The End Times had a lot of good concepts, but it also had a lot of bad ones, and GW didn't make enough of an effort to have the situation not be absolutely fucked. That said, having Grimgor kick Archaeon in the balls and plant him in the ground like a tent pole is still peak fiction and you cannot tell me otherwise, because no one would expect the Orcs to be the ones to save the day against the forces of Chaos. And no, not even Tzeentch saw that shit coming.

To be fair, in AoS Gork and Mork pretty much told Chaos to fuck off, Sigmar himself had to go and have a world ending battle with GorkaMorka to get them on side, as he himself knows that without the orcs, there is no victory against Chaos

They just get curb stomped by chaos and skaven then dip out of the planet on pyramid space ships, because the writers didn't know what's going on

Still have Thorgrim killed by Snikch, but instead of an anticlimactic backstab, make it into a brutal drawn out fight. Have assassin fail the backstab and have to run away and start doing hit and run tactics. He bleeds the dwarf king, but Thorgrim reads his movements and with the last of his strength cuts/rips off the rats hands, but in his moment of victory the tail blade whips out and stabs him through the face. He then refuse to fall and with his last spark of life crushes Snikch's head. A mutual kill that makes both characters look badass.

There is nothing wrong with Thorgrim being killed by Snikch, hell, any character would be alright dying to him, but it should have been something a lot less stupid and anticlimactic than them leaving their key under the doormat.

Also he shouldn't have been stabbed in the back. The video is right that his armour has runes specifically used to stop that exact death from happening.

Yeah, what Disney did with Star Wars would be like if GW said that all of Warhammer 40k lore wasn't canon anymore because they wanted to make new stories, but then kept ripping off ideas from the old lore.

I doubt GW will try this with 40k, as noted Fantasy got tossed on the pyre because it was hemorrhaging money, 40k is still going strong.

As a side note, this shit almost happened with Exalted when White Wolf announced it would not be publishing third edition, thankfully enough people petitioned for it to continue that they handed it off to Onyx Path (which I still don't understand why it exists as a second publishing house, white wolf is still around and it looks like they share IP's but whatever) and they got enough backing on Kickstarter to prove to the higher-ups that the setting was still marketable. Unfortunately, while we are (slowly) getting the third edition of the tabletop RPG, and we are slated to get a new run of novels, the wargame that had been in the works prior to White Wolf dropping the setting like a sack of shit is permadead as far as I can tell.

Addendum to side note, now that I've looked at it, the handoff and decision to almost can the setting came as a direct result of Paradox's buyout of White Wolf, which I guess makes sense, but I still don't like it.

Ehhh.... that series is pretty bad, compared to Majorkill's more recent stuff. Lots of unfunny "shut up Timmy, you stupid retard" jokes, and over-the-top bits that really don't fly today, for obvious reasons.

To defend the "why won't Chaos just roll this world too" position. Age of Sigmar explicitly has an Order faction. As I understand it Chaos always "wins" because the other gods were messy and nearly everything that empowers Khaine ends up empowering Khorne but not vice versa. Chaos is fundamental whereas their rivals were limited. In Age of Sigmar the Order gods are fundamental in the same way Chaos are. Sigmar represents civilisation in AoS and all civilisation empowers him, not just men. At least that is what it is supposed to be.

But that's not true. If it was, Sigmar wouldn't have been able to do squat after the Age of Chaos.

I feel like the way that the end times happens it's like a significant not off to say let's go to the age of Sigmar kind of thing like it's their skews to say that's what we're doing since everybody knows that age of Sigmar has almost all the races in fantasy but it's like let's make it almost closed 240k with the armor and looks of some of the races

Honestly the best way to finish the end times in my opinion would be to do something like justice league dark Apokolips war in that the heroes do beat dark side but the vast majority of them die in the process and at the end darkside did enough damage to the planet that earth itself is dying and nothing can stop it (a quote that I forgot the source of but perfectly sums up the situation ‘we have stopped the bleeding but the body is to far gone’) in the end the only solution is to have flash go fast enough to break time and prevent that reality from ever happening Translating that into Warhammer would have been awesome have shit like the elves and dwarfs fighting together one last Time a dark elf civil war between malakith and a morathi influenced by chaos and a grand alliance of the empire bretonia and the lizard men 75-90 percent of them die but chaos is thrown back only for them to realize the world is so corrupted there’s still no real victory thus leading to a ritual or something to create the moral realms or something like that

While I don't mind jokes, it does bother me when somebody says "I wish I were kidding/joking" after they tell something that isn't true. For example, Grimgor never hit Archaon in the balls in Storm of Chaos.

I still think what Disney did to the EU was worse because at least Warhammer Fantasy happened. Star Wars EU fans had all the lore they loved decanonized and discontinued for a new canon, but said new canon constantly steals characters and plots from the old one to the point of asking why they didn't just adapt the old canon.

Fun fact, I actually loved the Last Jedi (or rather what it tried to do differently than usual), but I hated Disney backpedaling on their decisions like a bunch of cowards because of over-vengeful fans who yelled loudly. But yeah, screw the End Times. ;/

Ok your problems with 40k with the power of a true name and how the custodians were handled neither of these are a plot contrivance. The custodians were killed by possessed marines who bonded with there Deamons making them far more deadly and they took the custodians off guard and there were only a few custodians as well. Also the true name isn't a plot contrivance it's a plot point that gets used efficiently in modern times.

The End Times.... Don't let Nagash be part of The Order.... Let Chaos have the dub by destroying Brettonia and half of The Empire then would realize that they are losing because Nagash is becoming stronger. Yeah let Gelt die, but do it properly

I mean I respect hating what Disney did to Star Wars, but imo classic Star Wars died when Anakin Solo did. And don't even get me started on Callista. Imo NOTHING Disney has done is worse than that plotline.
