Making Useful Tools In The Woods From Natural Materials

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Lonnie shows in this video how to make two different styles of mauls or hammers from natural materials found in the woods. These mauls are useful for driving tent stakes or other stakes into the ground when camping. These mauls are also useful for driving wedges into logs to split them in order to make useful camp furniture. These mauls can also be used to drive a precisely placed hatchet into wood to enable accurately positioned ax work on projects.

Hello my name is Lonnie and My wife is Connie.
Here at Far North Bushcraft And Survival you will learn about many long forgotten tricks and tips of the old time woodsmen. Not only will you learn about bushcraft / woodcraft but you will learn many things that will help you to survive in less than ideal "survival" situations as well. Come along and sit with me by the campfire as I delve into these subjects in a way that you can easily learn to then do yourself.
I will show you how to make shelters, gather food, use wild medicines as well as start fires with or without matches, lighters, ferro rods, etc

Always loving the pace of your videos. Many bushcrafters rush things or cut up their video so that people who don't pay attention still get the information, but your videos are always chilled, laid back and not rushed at all. A nice change and opportunity to get some of that calm in my mind as well ;)

Its a pleasure to watch. I like the fact that's its not just another one of those string up a tarp and gather firewood videos. There is a longevity to this style of bush craft, a means to make a situation more comfortable when out in the wilderness. Being able to manufacturer simple but effective tools would certainty lift your spirits in a survival situation, or a long spell camping.
