Usually when you flash your micro SD card it allocates storage clusters poorly, after that you want to expand your filesystem to utilize all of the memory on the card. At the command prompt type "sudo raspi-config" then select the number 7 "advanced" then select A1 "Expand Filesystem." This will re-allocate all free clusters to be used for more storage to stop your mini computer from crashing because its running out of resources. Hope that helps. I just had a 32gb micro SD card that was 100% full and after I did that, it went down to 54% used storage.

I'm jealous. You have a bigger screen than me with my Sharp Zaurus SL-C3200. I'm messing about, this is a sweet little project. :) I remember how much fun my Z was -- I used it as a proper little Linux computer in the mid to late 00s -- and hope you have just as much fun with yours, Patter. I still want to make my own. :) Edit: Oof those reboots! The worst I got from my first Linux box -- seriously obsolete hardware in '98 -- was programs crashing. I think it's the graphics; Intel graphics drivers are the worst I've seen for causing problems with the whole machine. (90s Windows problems were largely driver-related too.) My Zaurus repeatedly failed to compile Wesnoth after an all-night wait, but that was the worst I experienced with it. Then again, I wasn't trying anything 3D. It compiled and ran OpenTTD quite well; the small slow-down compensating for the tiny touchscreen. It won't compile OpenTTD any more, but oh well.

You might have been giving the Pi too little power (2.5 amps 5 volts should be good) or had peripherals that used too much power, I have several Pis that I use for projects and they've only ever shut off like that when I've accidentally shorted them or there was one of those little attachable screens attached to it, they are pretty demanding power wise for the Pi. (assuming you're powering it directly from the pi) [edit] I dont really pay attention to other comments and did not read the part where you literally fixed that....

That was def a power supply issue. The strange thing is the ras-pi usually displays a lightening bolt in the upper right of the screen when it has power issues. But yeah, if your pi acts strange, any of the Pis, get a good, properly rated, power supply. I love that little DeLL tower!!! I want a small case that makes my Pi4 look just like a miniature desktop tower. :)
