Making The [Witcher] Sword - From Season 1 and 2

The tale of making the Witcher Steel Sword from the Netflix show out of meteorite. From the forging of the blade to the creation of Renfri's broach, we show it all. A sword Geralt of Rivia would be proud to use. This sword is featured in Witcher season one and Witcher season 2 on Netflix. The tale is told by our very own bard, Chris Cash of Mt Phillip Metal Works.
Working with meteorite is complex in it’s self. Making a sword of this quality adds several challenges. Not only working the material but heat treating the blade and grinding the complex plunges and creating the proper garnishments using classical silversmithing techniques. Gem setting, chasing and repousse are all used to bring this magical sword to life.
Bladesmithing at it's finest ! If you ever wanted to lean how to make a sword for a Witcher or how to make a pattern welded sword with meteorite than this is the video for you.
Toss a coin to you Witcher so he can toss a coin to his blacksmith and get himself a real sword! Not a silly ZWEIHANDER , but a real swift hand half made from meteorite. Perhaps we will do the original sword from Blood Origin next or maybe season 2 on Netflix will reveal another piece that we will have to make. Either way, I am sure that we will return to The Witcher and make something else soon !
To those who have asked, we made the design from the Netflix show, but made it to scale how they are described in the Witcher Novels. Witcher season 1 and Witcher season 2 feature this sword so far.

You should be proud, it’s a shining example of just how much talent you guys collectively bring to the table. With as much work as you put in to each step, you should consider releasing these in deep dive parts, each like 10 mins long then release a super cut of them all with the demolition. I easily would watch a 10 min vid just covering the broach as well as one that goes over assembly and detail work done handle, guard, etc. One long video like this is really easy to skip through and miss things on, and I feel like it was hard to navigate to parts I was interested in, so a format like that would also might help maximize the viewer experience too! Either way, much love!

R.A. Salvatore has written many 'Forgotten Realm' books about a character named Drizzt Do'Urden. One of his main companions is named Wulfgar. I would like to see you make Wulfgar's war hammer, 'Aegis-fang'. It is described in the first book, 'The Crystal Shard'. Drizzt also wielded two scimitar's. One named Icingdeath and the other called 'Twinkle'. I would like to see you forge those two as well.

InstrucTube don’t get me wrong, around the 5:20 mark when he starts working the steel? Captivating doesn’t even begin to describe it. And his ability to hand bevel, it’s unreal. My point was more that the video spent a solid 5 minutes showing the prepping of the steel (which is fine if you like that much detail on the process, everyone has their own kinks), I just would have loved the same detail to have been shown to the other equally as intricate parts as well.
