Im from Cape Town and often watch travel vlogs about Cape Town from the perspectives of both Americans and Europeans and honestly, many times I just cringe at how they (some not all) portray my city. You my friend did an excellent job - well done 👍🏻

Cape Town is so beautiful 😍 with so much to do. I could not choose 1, my faves are top of Table mountain; the chapmans peak drive to Cape of Good Hope; The wine routes; The sunsets; the summer concerts in the Kirstenbosch gardens; annual jazz festival; The New Years parades! Miss it so much!

I really liked it ,it feels like you got your info from the locals not just tour guides. Also love that you visited the smaller towns. You really get a feel for SA and the people there. Cape Town is a great city. But sometimes you will sit in a restaurant and there are no South Africans dining there.

The loadshedding is scheduled blackouts. It's, however, scheduled for different times in different areas. Normally takes two hours a day.

Well done on a lovely visitor's intro to our beautiful Cape Town and a little of The Fairest Cape surrounds. Penguins are my #1 favourite ... with a visit to Simons Town Boulders Beach or Betty's Bay Stony Point a treat to always put a smile on one's face.

As a South African I don’t really believe the majority of the country is any more dangerous for visitors than most other countries. Watch your belongings in the big cities and I wouldn’t wander around unknown areas at night. The good things far outweigh the negatives. You will be warmly welcomed.

As an ex Capetonian, there is a high crime rate and it pays to read up on safety before visiting and take advice on where to drive etc. Having said that, loadshedding apart, it’s paradise for the moneyed classes.

Clarence drive and Chapmans Peak is NOT THE GARDEN ROUTE! It is part of CAPE TOWN. Get your facts right please. ONLY once you are at Plettenberg Bay you are there...

I never said it was. I mentioned the general area the Garden Route covered, and described the road trip in order to get there. Here's the transcript, or watch it again :) “Now, technically, the Garden Route is generally considered to be the 300 kilometres stretch of coast, starting from Mossel Bay in the West to Port Elizabeth in the East. But because we needed to rent a car from Cape Town in order to get there, make a few stops along the way, and return to Cape Town once we were done, our whole Garden Route road trip ended up being closer to about 1200 kilometres in the end. I can’t go over everything about the Garden Route, but here are a few of my highlights, and some things I think you should keep in mind if you go. The first part of our road trip leaving Cape Town was going for a drive through the stunning coastal highway of Chapman’s Peak.”
