Making The Monster Rat (Five Nights At Candy’s 3 Cosplay)
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Wow! I’ve finally done it! Sorry for the audio quality, I don’t have a mic lol. Anyway, I overthink so much so I kept going back and forth between posting this video making sure everything was perfect. It was quite difficult explaining my thoughts on the process, but I hope you got an idea on where I was coming from. (Also this video was a pain to upload I had a lot of trouble so let’s hope this works!)
Also, in my last video I mentioned how rat was apart of a bigger project. My plan was to add it into this video but I didn’t have space. I’ve been wanting to make a Vinny/Puppeteer cosplay, and the rat was supposed to be a prop… however, I think it would be easier to make a smaller version along with the cat. If you are interested in this project, let me know and I’ll make a video!

You’re bringing in a whole new levels of FNAF cosplay my dudet! Not every FNAF cosplayer dresses up like a FNAF fangame character. Let’s hope it can inspire others to do the same.

Thank you! Yeah, he’s super cool!
Monster Rat is probably my favorite FNAC animatronics. that is absolutely insane, amazing work!!!
I think we can all agree that while The FNAF 4 Nightmare characters are creepy, Monster Rat is more creepy with his natural design, yet creepy looks at the same time.
Nice mask! I've always thought of making/wanting to see this guy made, hes so underrated. Somewhat of a thought was to use burlap over fabric but this approach also looks very good. Cant wait to see more1

Thank you very much! Burlap would look very cool, like an Oogie Boogie style, I’d love to see that take on it!
This video perfectly encapsulates the way I’ve been feeling about my Spring Bonnie cosplay head I’ve been working on for the past couple days. I related to literally all of the problems stated in the video (the hot glue not sticking, the fact that you kinda just want to bludgeon the foam base to death when it doesn’t look the way you wanted it to…) Anyways, you did a fantastic job! Monster Rat has always been super special to me lol, he just looks so creepy and cool.

Thank you, he’s definitely one of my most favorite characters! But yes, the process is definitely a frustrating one, especially when you know it’s going to take a long time. The foam state (the longest one lol) will definitely make you feel like the project may not work out, it can look so goofy! But keep I up the good work, I bet spring Bonnie will turn out fantastic! And if you ever try again, it will be even better because you now have experience :)

Honestly did a amazing job especially for your first time doin something like this and it marries the designs together very well and even with monster rat's skin tight look it can be interpreted as sagging skin which adds more horror and realism considering natural wrinkles. Personally the rat is the one character design from the early days of fnaf and the fandom to effectively unnerve me even now and the mask instills the same feeling. Major props

Thank you I really appreciate it! I can’t promise a full body cosplay though, I’m very short so he’d look pretty goofy lol. But I do have a plan to make a unique outfit as well as an updated rat mask :)
Using contact cement like Barge works extremely well to glue foam together! It also keeps the foam’s flexibility unlike hot glue! Your mask looks absolutely incredible!!
wow, that's suuper cool! working with fabric when you're not the best at sewing really sucks lol specially bc fabric is so weird and you have to figure out the places where it would fold and etc, must have been very frustrating, but the final product looks amazing, i really love it! if i tried to make a mask like this, i think i would try to use thinner sheets of e.v.a foam and use a little bit of heat to shape them to the mask, my mom used to make e.v.a flowers when i was younger and they always looked so nice and smooth, tho it's difficult to work with it bc if you stretch it too much, it just rips and it's annoying lol anyways, thanks for the video, that was a really nice project! ❤

Thank you for your kind words! And I agree, I would definitely use a different material with my limited knowledge of fabric 🤔 I actually planned to use eva foam for my redesign for this guy, but that’s a project for another day lol

WOW! Thank you so so much! ✨✨
I got to say, since the first Five Nights at Candy's I hadn't seen ANYBODY make cosplays of characters from these. And speaking about other FNAF fangames I had recently found the channel of one guy who made the cosplay of Ignited Freddy from The Joy of Creation. Even despite the Rat monster of yours not looking exactly like the game's one - It still turned out EXCELLENT! You did a great job at making him. P.S: A little bit of rant, I hope nobody minds. Even though he might not look exactly like his game counterpart, the fabric makes it look like it's a suit and it might give you a thought of Who might be using that suit. It's interesting and mysterious to think about it, but again, nobody would if you see this thing in real life. Come on, I would build a factory if I see this dude peeking out of my closet at night, lol.
Oh wow!! This is super cool, great job on it!!

great job on this, it looks very good! If you make something like this again i suggest cutting darts into the tape, it pretty much makes anything that has an upward curve(like the head or nose part) flatter in case you don't want to cut it into so many peices.
Looks good even if its not completely accurate. I wanted to make a life size mockup of Monster Randall and even had in mind what fabrics to use. I still wanna make one of Candycat (Old Candy) but I'm still trying to find the right color of synthetic fur.
I can wait to say I knew you since around 200 subs when you become big. Keep up the work 👍

You did a great job on making this mask, it's astonishing ! (if that's how you can say it, sorry i'm french... :/ ) And for a first, just outstanding ! You know, i dove into this crazy adventure of making a fnaf costume too, i made a withered freddy costume (well, "unwithered" for now cause it was my first time making a costume). I began planning on the costume since last october, and i began development arounf january. Making the limbs was kind of easy (when fusing parts together, i had to wait too, got my mom's help to hold them :) ), but then came the body... i used a long foam board thing and made a hole in the center for my head, wore it, cut the holes for the arms, but i saw the body wasn't thick enough (i used 1,5 cm thick foam, so i had to double the thickness to 3cm at least). then, i had no problem with the fabric for the limbs, but the body, that's a trip like the one you had, lemme tell you ! Then for the head, since i already used a lot of the budget to make the whole body, and that i would have not gotten the skill to make a head out of foam, i was stuck, but then came benyboi (the guy who made the ignited freddy costume), i asked him for tips at first for the project, but then was kind enough to print me the mask (i won't go in details for the price, to be safe ;) ) And so, i recieved it, but since it was to big (he made it so so it would be imposing) i filled it with foam so my head could carry it and make it perfectly stable. since putting on the fabric was going to be hard to do (making the shapes like you did), i used a brown spray paint can to make the brown color. Then, i managed to put on fabric on the nose part (easier than the whole head). Finally i used LEDs for the eyes. Yep, what a trip... I could make another costume, but just the crazy amount of money you have to spend ! Sheesh... (foam, fabric, glue and printing if possible) Maybe some years later ! For the mouth movement, i don't exactly know what to do, the guy used springs to hold the jaw, but got nothing to push it down when i open my mouth... (if you or anyone else have an idea, i'd be glad to hear it ! :) ) Anyway, if you read my comment, i thank you with all my heart ! I appreciate it ! Good luck for future projects !

Hello Dave. I've seen some of ya doppelgangers round here
these videos always make me wanna cosplay a fnaf character omg
What a shame, I had created a complete cosplay before and unfortunately no one saw it but this one is very cool although I would like someone to see mine, very good work, only one thing is that the fabric does not fit much since the character has a pile due to being a monster
Man i need to try this sometime....
