Making the Change! | Switching Tires on RC No Prep Car!

Ойын-сауық

Well after a lot of testing with different compounds, I finally made the decision to switch tires all together. I'm finally jumping from the 2.2 wheels and tires to the short course style 2.2/3.0 wheel and tire, and I tried to explain exactly why in this video.
There's another change coming soon to the car so make sure you stay tuned!!
Hope you Enjoy the Video!

I was just thinking about getting bead locks because I mess up gluing every time & I just ordered more DE racing tires. I’m glad I know now about cutting out the ribs. I’ve ran the street outlaw DE in clay & the phenomenon in the D40 compound. I like them so far & the wear is really good. I also run Panther but the tires are thin & don’t last long. But the hook really good.

Everyone says the clay tires are the way to go because they will get more runs on a set than the soft compounds. If you’d rather send the print file I’m sure I could find someone to print it for me I’ll pay ya something either way let me know, thanks man sick upgrades as always , when I said same combo i meant the short course split six and pro line drag racing tire

@@FullThrottleRC Took stock of my fuel stash. I have a 500cc pit bottle, and this is what I've got to work with: 1.5-1.75 bottles of fresh Sidewinder 20% Race 320cc of kinda stale but still viable Sidewinder 20% 310cc of 10+ year old but somehow still viable Blue Thunder 20% ~200cc of SIG Champion 25% 1/2a Fuel That's the order I'll use the stuff in. The 1/2a fuel is 20% total oil and half of that is castor, messy stuff, great for 60+ year old plane engines. The Blue Thunder is something like 18% oil but I've confirmed it's still viable fuel with other cars. Somehow. It's literally ten years old or more! Car itself has a 210cc tank, so not all that much fuel. But then again passes won't take long so that should be tons of fun! I also have about 3/4 of a gallon of Omega 15% plane fuel. I could run that in a pinch but it's high in oil and slightly down in nitro so I know I won't get any good hits off of it. Won't hurt the engine any though. Got any tips for getting a good launch for someone who's never actually run the scale quarter? Luckily enough my Scorpion XXL just digs in and scoots when I belt it open, no funny business no major wheelspin. kzread.info/dash/bejne/eYh3266hk7mWf7g.html Here's some footage of the car I'll run the most doing some speedruns out front of the house. @@FullThrottleRC Just got back. Brakes went out on my car after the 9th pass, not sure if it's mechanical or the servo. Erred on the side of caution rather than risking a runaway nitro buggy. Best pass was 3.75 @ 31.8MPH 0.087ET. Had a blast down there too. Engine liked to load up during staging; expected this I have it tuned for longevity. It ran out of legs about 3/4ths of the way down too; my slowest trap speed and my fastest were within 1MPH of one another. Was a blast though! And I heard one of the organizers go 'Right down broadway!' during one of my passes haha.

@@FullThrottleRC heh heh if we're ever in the same area and you hear brap you've probably found me! The engines are why I'm in RC; just something special about how such a small little engine can produce crazy power on exotic fuels! Not gonna be easy to do my custom build. It's gonna be like your front engine dragster, but with an actual engine. I need to find a clutch bell that has a drive cup for an output and a suitably strong crawler axle; already have a suitable engine and a turnkey 1/10 buggy front end to use. If I can find that bell I'm set; keep it nice and light won't need to gear down any! And I think such a rig could be competitive in street eliminator at least, so I'll probably build it around those dimensions, use their tires.

I still might just go with the prime tires because the way my car is setup 65-70% of the weight is on the tires so it should flatten out the contact patch a bit. I might also use a softer foam or no foam so the sidewall have some give so the tire can squish down a little more

  • @FullThrottleRC

I think you are talking about the burnout and I actually don't raise the car to do a burnout. I just hold the car back in my hand, if the tire grows a little its the same amount it will grow down track. I have tire bands inside of these tires to limit that though.
