Beautiful. I was learning kumiko when I broke my ankle and stopped going to the wood shop. But then I traded my SUV for a sedan so I haven’t been back. One day I’ll return to woodworking when I get a pickup truck.
@ 2:53 I messed up... The first angle is 22.5, and the second angle is 67.5. Sorry for the mistake. This video was kind of everywhere lol
Thanks for sharing look forward to seeing more !!
First time I have seen anything like this. Very interesting and turned out great. Thanks for posting!
Beautiful works
Your projects are always presented and explained perfectly. Well done as always, Seth. Side note I just completed my first asa-no-ha today, I am half way through churning out 10 unique kumiko shoji lanterns similar to Adrian Preda's design. Couldn't do it without learning from folks like you, thank you.

Игорь Сатори Yes I switch to a lav mic later in the video, and I can't do much about my dehumidifier. It has to stay on.
Good work but why use this aspect ratio and poor audio recording.
Sorry but this is not The Asanoha pattern, what you made is the Kakuasa pattern. Asanoha is based on hexagonal geometry. This page is a great resource for Kumiko patterns... www.tanihata.co.jp/english/products/list.htm
Pretty nice but you need to show more on the cutting of the angles and how you made the angle cutting boards. It really ISN'T an IN DEPTH LOOK because you didn't show everything you did.
I was ready to leave your video, when you went to voice over...SOOOOO much better to listen to.
Aprenda com os mestres primeiro tudo é feito a mão nada destas ferramentas inúteis que vc mostrou quase o vídeo inteiro, aprenda e depois faça

Don't speak Portuguese, but it is very common for the master craftsman these days to use power tools when dimentioning lumber. Whether that be for timberframing, or small kumiko pieces. That being said. I'm fully capable of doing this fully by hand. It's not really difficult at all, but time is money. Thanks for the comment
this is not an easy or enjoyable video to watch if you are trying to learn about kumiko. i can't hear you very well,,,,,,,background noise and too much jibber jabber............i cannot watch this video.......too frustrating ,,,,,,,,,,,,i hope this helps you to do a better job in the future.....i know you mean well but your information does not flow smoothly............you're right,,,,,,,,,,this video was EVERYWHERE and that's no way for anybody to learn....
