For those made uncomfortable by the - She Who Will No Longer Be Named - pun in the intro, my apologies profusely! I didn't think that a pun on the name would be offensive/bring any harmful thoughts/memories to anyone's head. However, I recognize that I am not in the group that is as effected, and therefore probably didn't think it through as much as I should have. I will try and do better in the future! I love all of you, and want you to only come to my vids for fun and to learn some new tabletop crafting :) I hope you are all having a fantastic day

You're not endorsing her behaviours you're not aligning yourself with her ideas you're just making a pun. They do look great. With the Mica shell though it might be a good idea to get some clear coat on them to prevent it from chipping off. Never worked with resin so this probably wouldn't work but could a thin coat of resin be applied to the molds then blow/lightly brush Mica onto it before curing and filling? Main issue I can think of with this idea is that the shell would be fragile and could be broken while filling.

I don't know if this would be the right term, but in the nail world when you're buffing in powder like that, it's called "burnishing". When you see all the chrome nails out there, that's generally when we use it by burnishing nail powder into a cured gel top coat.

For the colours for the black dragon ancestry: Silver both works because ancient black dragons have silver in their colour palette and it would contrast nicely. Alternatively, if that just sounds too samey since silver works really well almost universally, perhaps alternating light green on the black and a stormy grey on the green? Also the dice look gorgeous, glad to have you back man and I hope the move went smoothly

I really really love the vein of holo through the wild magic set, and I actually also kinda love how the sanding created a slightly rougher looking sorta window into the holo underneath. It brought this cool idea of wild energy pushing out through the cracks and then exploding/leaking from the 1's face, which just feels really in line with the class, so yeah. Gorgeous dice. The idea behind the black dragon set was awesome even if it didn't quite get the full effect you were after this time around.

I also had a problem with sanding them down, but you can use a sort of adhesive plus a bit of extra mica powder to fix up some of the areas that aren't quite perfect if you're going for a uniform look. I would be interested in experimenting a bit more with the vein of holo resin coming through the mica powder shell... looks like a potential to make some cool gem-like dice! I do an "inverted petri" type where i put a drop of ink in the mold before adding resin, add another drop after filling halfway, and then topping it off. Cap molds of courses lol Helps to rub the mold with resin first to avoid soft spots. The fun part is that you definitely lose some of the ink while polishing, and wind up with a very random texture around the dice. Try it!

It's really cool to see that dusting technique, it gives you a multi color look with a bit more control. Also, you could get some really interesting results be sanding certain areas to expose the inside. Imagine how it would look if you carefully rounded the edges (maybe using the tumble polish method?)

The trick to this would actually be to use a double mold where you just make a smaller numberless dice(you make it the exact size to just fit perfectly where it would be touching the numbers of the bigger dice mold) using the mica powder and then just use clear when you do the outer shell. That gets you the look with a clear protective layer. It also means that you won't have an issue with wear from usage or scratching.

I thought the thumbnail was accurate but these turned out even better than the preview holy wow! I thought they were going to look like some delicious chalk but instead I was transported to a world of wonder and glitz and I'm not sure I want to come back after that trip. I wonder if there would be a way to coat the outside with a thin layer of resin to protect it and sand it down if you were really wanting to sand it, just so you can still get that glassy look without sacrificing the mica shell? I just learned about a "frosted" look today so anyone looking for a chalky or frosted finish can do that...hmmmm.... (PS I think the leftover gold flecks added something to that die. Plus, gold. So you can't go wrong!)

for the mica powder on sides of mold, when done in cosplay with metals (like you put metal powder on sides of mold then fill up with resin after) most people usually call it "cold casting". it's something that some people do to be able to "buff" the prop to a better metal finish than paints can create.

Hey, you want a wild magic dice set? Imagine with me, a dice that looked like somebody did a 100-color resin challenge, but only mixed it halfway. A dice set where you can clearly see the reds and browns swirling gently and intertwined with the greens and blues, gold and silver ditting throughout the set. It's just.......... SO PRETTY!!! I use that set for my little Cat-kin, he's not exactly a wild mage, but a tiny bit worse. He's a Chance Cleric, a class type my DM helped me put together. All about chances and coincidence and gambling away their probabilities. If you like math, Chance Cleric is great for you! There's tables and percentiles for pretty much anything imagineable!

I did a set for a friend a while back with this same sort of mica powdering idea. The shell was made from a pure white but instead of a hollo glitter like inside I did a bright pink. I did have to sand it but it still came out amazing. I then painted the numbers a blood red, since the dice were based on a vampire character, and that was it. I think I user some red nail polish for the numbers that time around and it stays on the dice WAY better. Also the nail polish doesn't look that great on my nails so it was being put to better use. sanding

Seeing your videos has made me want to start making dice myself. Bought most of the stuff from your basics video and although I wanted to use the metal dice you use for your molds, they were unavailable so I went with the (their phrasing, not mine) ugly set of gamescience dice for the sharper edges (Sadly the caltrops have the tips cut, but it does make them look pretty unique too) for use of my molds. Thinking of making either a fire set for my fiendish pact warlock, or a metalic set for my battle master fighter :P

might be cool to make a dice where you do the powder technique in a basic color or black or white ( white might look the coolest) and a core of pure gold the goldest you can get, and then you sand al the edges slightly to reveal gold lines, this would also be cool with a gunmetal core and black powder this would ge of a weathered/shipped metal look. might also be cool to ad the powder slopely so some gold spickles show up

Even though I've never played DND your videos got me into dice making lol. (Although I don't have a pressure pot so a lot of my sets don't come out useable, a lot of what I'm doing is just experiments right now though) Something that I've tried recently that I think you would enjoy doing with your dice is using crushed up charcoal as a pigment. I found out that it gives the dice a nice black color but if you hold it up to the light it becomes almost translucent with small chunks of the charcoal becoming visible. (I used charcoal from my fireplace instead of buying powder so the powder wasn't a fine and even grain) I feel like this method could make some cool black crystal or even amethyst themed dice. (If anyone else in the comments tries this out please tell me! I want to see what other people's dice come out like!)
