Making Sea Water Potable

Ғылым және технология

A presentation of the Dhekelia Desalination Plant in Cyprus.
The plant produces 60.000m3 water drinking water per day using the reverse osmosis process (RO) to remove dissolved solids from raw seawater. It is a 20-year (2007-2027) BOOT contract won by Caramondani Desalination Plants Ltd.
The plant utilises 3 x KSB x 2.2 Megawatt high pressure pumps and spiral wound membranes to achieve the 60,000m³ of potable water per day with a BORON rejection of less than 0,5 ppm. The plant saves 4 MEGAWATT in energy utilising the Energy Recovery Systems of E.R.I. USA.
