i feel actually strongly with this, this feels true to the game and to a real life perspective but still in its own universe, kind of how stranger things was done. i feel these peopl did amazing work and should be more reconized for it

If you are making a movie based on a game, you let producers and directors that have an actual love for the game make it. Because they will do everything to make the movie true to it's game origin

When he was talking about the personal decisions made in game, about how he personally allowed Elisa to pass, it made a lot of sense. I would wager that many of us who have played the game probably let Elisa in, as did the director. It was genius that in the short film that the Inspector decides to deny her entry for dramatic effect. Well done.

Well...а я все понял😁

The actors playing the inspector and Elisa were really amazing. The scene where the inspector's sense of duty and professionalism clashes with his humanity and compassion for that innocent young woman is just fantastic! You see how much the guy is deeply shaken as a human being after denying her. Elisa plays is really impressive too. I like how she radiates innocence, charm and kindness while being quite shy and withdrawn at the same time. You need to be a very good actress to show so much without being too actively expressive.

Inspector after walking out to guy with gun: "Guess I'll Die"

I think one of the many problems that occurs when translating a game to movie is that the people involved simply do not care, you might hear "oh I played Pong when I was a kid", can you imagine if Kubrick when adapting the Shining had said "Oh books, I know those things, I read Doc Seuss when I was 7" and that was it. And then you find out nobody in the cast had ever played a game in their life and treat it as if they are embarrassed by the idea. This movie had more love than the adaptations for Max Payne.

There were still a few things which didn't resemble the game. Jorji didn't have that tiny funny bum vibe, just a bit older, the inspector doesn't have a humour, like in the game when he says 'Hello, Jorji' when Jorji comes in day 31. No Ezic agent came, not Calensk, no suicide bomber, and I can continue

@@ionutblaj128 Just because they couldn't fit in every single plot element from the game doesn't make it bad, they're a small production company so they made something within their reach. Like they said, they based it around a story beat from the game that they thought would incite the most emotion and paid homage to as much as they could otherwise.

You can see the burnt scraps of the shawl his companion was wearing when the inspector leaves the booth, and as she is not shown, this heavily implies she was the bomber. Also, Jorji's character only really got through via his passports. His Cobrastan passport is shown in the montage of passport covers, his physical desc. is filed as: Good look Blue yies Very Toll And his sex: 1234-OKOK

Congratulations on making excellent cinema! The movie is engrossing, true to the source material and, at the same time, is it's own product. The guy who plays the inspector does a killer job. The way it was filmed was very intense, the part where each section of the passport/paper were focused like.. bam "country", bam!"name", so cool. I love it.

Directed and produced by 2 amateur filmmakers in their mid-20s as well. Really puts Hollywood to shame for all their awful video game adaptations...

They honestly created the best ever film adaptation of a game I've ever seen. Even with subtitles I was gripped to my seat and shocked to my seat having played the game. It is good to know they had fun filming it.

Honestly the fact I had to use subtitles kinda increased the immersion since I doubt Arstotzka is English

in case you're interested in an advice on your grammar - it's either "по-русски" or "на русском (языке)", not both at the same time. Also, it would sound more natural to say "Я не очень хорошо говорю по-русски/на русском языке", yunno, in terms of word order and such. Good luck with learning Russian~ ^^

Когда впервые посмотрел, создалось ощущение собраного до конца пазла, когда все детали стоят на своих местах, и ни одна из них не упущена. Даже у меня, как у зрителя появилось чувство удовольствия от "проделанной работы". И да конечно, это именно то, чего сейчас так не хватает, здравой прагматики приближенной к человеческому быту, событий с последствиями которых мы сейчас имеем дело, не с одной драмой которую "обсасывают" со всех сторон в течении всего метража, а множеством драм человеческих судеб людей, которым в свое время было "не до айфонов". Созданная атмосфера наживую вытаскивает из генетической памяти ощущение причастности к происходящему, через предыдущие поколения. Восторг! Слава Арстоцке!

Зачем обливать? Просто воссоздать атмосферу приближенную. Я когда смотрю на Beholder и тот дом, вспоминаю сталинку в Воронеже, в которой я провёл детство) Люди пусть будут цветные таки. А вот лозунги, агитмашины и телевизор - это будет атмосферно)

Very interesting "behind the scenes" documentary for an excellent short. I haven't played the game yet, but will certainly check it out closely. Wish all the crew success and fun in their upcoming projects. You all did a great job!

Браво, ребят, это может сравниться с высокобюджетными полнометражными фильмами, мне нечего вам сказать, так держать!

Таких режиссеров и создателей должно быть больше) Надеюсь вы еще что нибудь крутое сделаете. Даже не смотря на то что в саму игру я не играл - во первых все было понятно, во вторых появилось дикое желание поиграть самому и я понял что пропустил что-то важное, ну и в третьих конечно Игорь Юрьевич Савочкин - просто феноменальный актер (для меня один из лучших в снг, если не самый лучший) который помог полностью погрузиться в атмосферу происходящего. Хотелось бы его так же чаще видеть на экране особенно в картинах такого уровня. Для меня это прям "идеальная смесь" и как вы и сказали на самом деле дримкаст :D Пересматривал с момента выхода несколько раз - и все еще не надоедает. В общем огромное спасибо всем кто принимал участие в создании этого шедевра, это лучшее из того что я видел от киноделов из снг за последние несколько лет, надеюсь он будет не последним :)

Я бы хотел увидеть вашу экранизацию "метро 2033", у вас бы получился шедевр в кубе

Lex !!! Спешу тебя огорчить, но это трейлер переиздания обоих игр под названием Metro 2033 Redux, а не фильма, и да его сняли как фильм, но это трейлер именно игры, поверь слову фаната

Normally the Entrant has to be scanned if his height and height info is different, I play Papers, Please.

@@WutDaHeill167 Or you mean his identity and fingerprints be verified. Scanning is for Weight difference, cus theres a chance of a Contraband or Weapon hidden.

Блин, KZread давно предлагал посмотреть фильм. Думала какая-то кринжета будет. Теперь посмотрела и фильм о фильме и короткометражку и это просто офигенно, ребят! Завершенно, с любовью к первоисточнику и очень визуально красиво. Просто счастлива, что посмотрела работу такого уровня на родном языке. Красавцы!

Really Impressive Behind The Scenes! Still sad that the Actor of the Inspector died.

i was really happy that this game finally get a short movie!, even though at firsr i was kind of sad that the inspector doesn't let Elisa pass, but after hearing your reason to make it more dramatical, i agree. It was a short film after all, if we just let Elisa pass like that then film will get boring and less dramatic (tbh my adrenaline really rise up after seeing Elisa got denied) I really hopes this game will really get a widescreen adaption (in addition we let Elisa pass and meeting Jorji hahaha) Anyway keep up the good work!. Seems like we already have new gret future film director :D. edit: i kind of forget Jorji Costava's name because i used to call him Georgie lol. edit it.

Jorji Costava Yes Jorji, you need a legitimate passport. Cobrastan is not a real country. And a tip, next time you bring a fake passport, don't do it yourself.

I like how the short film stayed true with the original story of the game, but also reimagined and created much finer detail from pixelated game, like the costume and the checkpoint office's set up. Awesome works guys.

Oh my gosh, you have no idea! I'm still not over how amazing this adaptation was and it's been about 8 months and I'm still in awe. Hollywood can't seem to ever get videogame adaptations right.
