I just came across your page today while doing research. I am a tile installer in Washington, USA. I always have scrap tile but I throw away a lot. I'm going to put together a mosaic for a good friend's wedding gift. I appreciate your guidance! Your work is incredible! I noticed in some of your videos you only use the water based adhesive, in this one I see you are using clear silicone for the field tile and the water based adhesive for the design. Is there a certain application one works better than the other? Is it dependent on where you are installing? Please keep up the videos, you are a great inspiration!

I am curious about the breaking of the ceramic tiles. Do you start off by dropping the tiles to break - use the big pieces - and then fill in the gaps with smaller pieces? Actually cutting as you fine tune the space you are filling?

Thank you to answer my question. But, I live in Canada and I want to be sure I could used the fibreglass mosaic mesh on a outdoor brick wall, because the weather could be really cold , wet and bad. Thank you

seems like a very small amount of adhesive is being used on the pieces.. instead of a full coat on the pieces.. is that so ?

Hey Anna. That's correct. It so to let a bit non-adhesive free surface. The main point is the mortar will need a non-adhesive surface to hold the tiles on the wall.

Ich habe auch diese Zange, doch es gelingt mir nie, die Teile so exskt zu schneiden, wie zum Beispiel die schwarzen Teile beim Schwanz des Tieres. So schade, dass man das nicht sehen kann, wie Du das gemacht hast. Kannst adu das nochmal zeigen oder erklären?

What type of glue are you using? Is it silicon caulk?

It was a regular transparent silicone. But please keep in mind that silicone is not a adhesive. It is only good to use as a pre-glueing process. So the main adhering process is glueing the whole mosaic work by using thin-set or mortar on a wall or floor soon as possible cuz silicone will only work for 10-12 months.
