----------------------------
You may be wondering why I named the video "$100 iMac" rather than $80 iMac. This is because I got mine for a bargain, they are usually around $100.
This video was something quite different to the usual GHG episode, It was more about telling the story of what lead me to the Mac and this more story oriented content is kind of where I want to take the channel in the future so please let me know your thoughts on it.
After about a month of late night walks with and without james, and several re-writes- this is the iMac video. I put a lot of work into it, this video has kind of been my baby for the past month.
So I really do hope you'll enjoy it.
I believe the best stories are the real ones, and this one is entirely real.
This is the actual story of how I found this iMac.
The iMac itself is a 17" early Intel model with a Core 2 Duo T7200 and Radeon X1600 graphics. It has been very kind to me throughout the editing process and I can't recommend these old beasts enough if you have a story to tell.

To be honest his videos remind me a lot of old youtube. It's the harsh lighting, and minimal setup in them. So 240p would only add to the feel of the video.

because its not a coming out story, or bullshit about trump, and some snl type shit, or a music video, but damn KZread algorithm needs to fixed trending needs to be a place to actually good content not that cancer people call entertainment, like that dude who puts his gtaV cd in his car and test happens, hhhmmmmm maybe it wont play!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!? wow what a god damn surprise, so yes this should be on the trending tab, i can amen to that MAGA

There is something truly special about your content, James. I'm so glad you made this video. Not seeing your content has been disheartening. You inspired me to try to film, to create, to focus on the things I love. Thank you for coming back, and inspiring me to create and giving me a boost in morale I needed. I'm glad you're back, even if it's for a second. Thank you, TJ.
Great movie man, always a pleasure to see a GHG video in my notifications. Upload as much as you can! PLEASE!!!
Tim, after watching your videos I always tell myself over and over again how amazing you would be as a movie director or a script writer. Your style of telling stories is just one of a kind and I always love coming back to your videos. The feel your videos give to the audience is something truly unique. Thank you, God bless.

I wish he uploaded more but quality is better than quantity.
This gave me the feels, man. My grandmother died early on, September 21st, 2016. She was 50 or 51. (Born December 20th 1965). She was the greatest person I knew. I just turned 12 at that time. Like 2 weeks before. I was too scared of crying because I was self conscious, so I didn’t go to see her in the hospital room when she died. I only felt comfortable crying in my own privacy, and I don’t like that. Even her mom is still alive at 70. Your memories on the camera gave me tears. Message to everyone: preserve your memories, in anyway possible. You may not realize just how important they are or will be to you in the future.
JESUS, I love these videos. They're all so high quality and so insightful. The wait is always so worth it. Absolutely my favorite channel on this site.
Clicked so fast that my computer had a BSOD of memory problems
I'm sitting here trying to find constructive criticism, but I simply can't. This video is a beautiful way to connect to the enthusiasts of the digital world, and inspire us about more than just computers, but about life itself. I personally believe that your editing skills deserve more credit than KZread can ever give justice. I'm not even mad that it takes you a billion years to release new content, because when you do you always deliver. Amazing video and cheers!
Holy heck, this is one that's hit home! Tim, Your videos always have something truly unique about them, and it's great to kick back with a cuppa and end the night watching your content. Keep up the great work, and keep making those memories!
This is one kind of a channel, it gives you always a good feeling, the music, the voice, the short fragments... This is the only channel I know that gives you this feeling. Please continue like this! And mayby more video's?:p

Why not edit those old tapes on my current PC?
@switchbored505
7 жыл бұрын
I assume in many cases there's compatibility issues. Many modern computers have problems with Firewire ports, so that would be an issue. Also, when it comes to video editing software, things can get out of control very fast. If you have a new computer, the older versions of an editor won't work well, so you need a newer version. You get the newer version, but it's more expensive, and it has higher hardware requirements, even if you only want to edit SD video. So you end up spending more money and time. Instead, you can get an older computer that's very cheap and can handle doing the entire process by it's own. I think that's the appeal of this idea, not letting yourself get caught up with the setup if there's a cheap solution to get you started.
I love your channel! I'm very glad to find such amazing content on KZread.
Great story, and nice way to make a video on a budget! My dad got a mini DV Sony camera a long time ago. Back then, it was top of the line. He used it to record some of my early childhood. He kept these tapes and still has them. He still uses this camera to record special occasions, and the footage looks pretty good. On top of that, the only computer we have in our house that can connect to the camera and copy its files is an old Dell Inspiron laptop that we got back in 2003. Also top of the line back in its day, it had a full desktop class hyper threaded Pentium 4, 2gb RAM, ATi Radeon Graphics, and Windows XP. He loved this PC, cleaning its fans, re-installing the OS, and even replaced its screen when it's screen stopped working! He used it as his daily driver until the day Windows XP support ended in 2014. It is permanently offline and mostly sits and collects dust, but every once in a while, we take it out to copy files from the Sony camera to the Dell, and enjoy some memories from my childhood :)
You as a kid reminds me of Harry Potter from the sorcerer's stone movie
