​@@pops7249 Ukraine has a navy, it's still a land war. None of their ships are capable of offering resistance to the Black Sea fleet, so none of them have. If Ukraine's only defence from Russia at sea comes from installations on land, it's a land war.

Man, I haven't even watched this video yet but just wanted to give you a high five for doing it. While I wasn't thinking about a Diorama (my skill level isn't there yet), I was thinking about buying and constructing a ship of the same class, considering how historic it is in the interesting times we live in.

Excellent work! Lots of great reference photos for destroyed AFVs for the armor model builders right now.

For reference, It's reported that Moskva got its pennant number removed when leaving Sevastopol for the last time. So it shouldn't carry the 121 number when sunk

I'd love to see how you assemble the more complex copper parts.

No matter how you spin it Russia looks incompetent. Either they allowed two subsonic missiles to hit their ship cause of fire and sink it. Or something on board caused a fire that reached the ammunition locker and caused it to sink it. Having been a sailor on board a US aircraft carrier I can say that fire and border ship sucks, but you do everything in your power to fight it. This was likely poor crew training, poor quality of workmanship and poor design. Or a combo of all three.

I spoke to a sailor and he told me the US / UK navies put a massive emphasis on damage control for this reason. Looks like another example of Ivan being sloppy.

It's like those firefighting groups in WWII Japanese carriers. They didn't know how to handle the situation and the plane fuel leaked everywhere. The carrier was burnt down at the end. That ship is carrier Taiho, Drachinifel made a video about it.

The best part is that it is historically accurate by exposing the lie that Moskva was hit by missiles. Internal fire damage yes (sabotage? Direct energy weapon?, accident?) but no missile strike because hello, no holes blown in the ship.

Nice burn effect with the portholes. Was waiting for some crazy water like you do.. but there was no need in this dio.

Amazing. Compliments on the execution and the speed with which it was created.

Very impressive model. Just a small detail... Saw photographs when she was leaving Sevastopol for the last time. There was no "121" in the hull, apparently to make id more difficult during wartime.

Количество танков вообще самое большое в мире.. смысла нету в потоплении лишь одного.. на другие уже не хватит сил потопить.. да и карта боевых действий говорит,что и возможности нету.. так что увы.. одним меньше-другим больше

I knew you'd do something like this to a modern day ship that was wrecked.

When I was a kid, I found that I could deposit black soot onto a model by lighting a bit of sprue on fire and holding the model some distance above.

BTW, do you use Plasti-Zap for plastic-to-plastic? I always loved that stuff.

Great diorama, but I dare to make a small comment about the inscriptions. Judging by the photos of the "Moskva" that were taken in Sevastopol a few days before the ship sank, the name and identification numbers were painted over to make it difficult to identify her.

@@user-nx5jg5xi9v He means that the diorama would have been closer to the event it depicts, if the model didn't show the ID number and name, as the real ship also had them painted over when the incident occurred. He wasn't discussing any war. Part of building a diorama of a real event, is the challenge of getting as close as possible to it.

If you can't find it, buy the Varyag kit! I did, Trumpeter includes the decals for her sister ships including Moskva and also includes parts for the Moskva's top radar. As far as I can tell there aren't any other noticable differences.

That needs a reference.. Clearly this model is based on the photo only. Looking at that photo (0:59), I can see why he left the forward structure undamaged - it looks clean through the smoke. This model is great because it shows the size on the ship. That the central damaged structure is a relatively small proportion of the total ship.

What is the deal with the gold and silver metal pieces? I’ve been wondering since I watched the Yamato build

They are photo-etch parts. The smallest details that can't be cast in plastic are etched into metal pieces. Some come in kits for must-have parts, but most you buy from a different company that makes a set to go along with a kit.

i give props to model builder who go threw the time to paint a model then destroy it just to bring a awesome diorama to life.

A diorama that poetically captures the concept of "f*ck around, and find out". Which Russia is learning the hard way.

@@yesandno389 Russia is fucked, it's economy is inexistant, almost no industry, no R&D, no big financial sector outside of ressources... catastrophic corruption, demographic disaster, and is one or two error away from having china start colonisation of siberia but yeah sure russia take what they deserve indeed, a huge punch in the face

Russia has always learned the hard way. We've got our own quirk that was well observed by Churchill. "The Americans will do the right thing - after they try everything else". :/ Two nations with people whose heads are as hard as a billy goat's head. Well, except for me. A goat did try butting me in the forehead, it sat with legs splayed wobbling. I was just going, "Ow! Rubbing a spot on my forehead", while laughing at the goat. Skulls don't come harder than in Sicilian-Americans. ;)

If you don't mind me asking, approximately how much does this sort of thing cost?

I would feel vastly greater humiliation to lose a major warship to a fire from crew incompetence than attack from an enemy in war.

I really dislike the barrel rocket tubes. They just make the ship ugly, but I understand it's for very lethal weaponry.

It's an absurd level of firepower. If the Moskva had traded even half of the launchers for additional AA and radar, she propably would have been able to survive the attack. A very russian mistake
