Making market bouquets in seconds? Let's break this down...

Let's chat about how fast someone on my bouquet crew would need to make bouquets in a commercial/wholesale business model and what this might look like when applied to our own cut flower farms. I'm starting off this series on Making Market Bouquets Fast by unpacking some of the key tools and systems used for assembly-line production of bouquets for the grocery store or market. My goal is that by the end of this series you'll be equipped with the knowledge and systems to be making market bouquets easily and more quickly!

Oh my goodness, you give so much value! Love that your bouquets have a color theme even though they are a market bouquet! Market bouquets I see here are just awful! I did wonder how I could make them more appealing yet stay within the price point and I think you do that. To grow and cut knowing what you need, super excited to learn more on that because in this business it’s so easy to work so hard and not make much money. 🌷🌺🌹

It is so easy to pile the hours into the growing, I find. Perennials have made a HUGE difference for me!

@@floristsonfarms yes I can believe that. Must give the variety saldo and less time consuming. And greenery, that takes awhile for it to grow big enough to pick regularly but that must be a game changer also.

Yes! I don’t grow greenery for bouquets, I just harvest it from what is growing all by itself 😄

Recipes all the way, it means you can create the most bang for your available flowers as efficiently as possible. It also means over stuffing becomes a thing of the past. On my teeny tiny flower farm I need to maximize the result with the fewest stems.

Question on your paper. Is it just white or is it waxy? I love the look of white paper (and black too!). But one of our big goals is being eco friendly. So I haven't been able to decide if I can switch and still be sustainable and affordable. Any thoughts? Thank you for another great video!

Oof, yes, I hear you on that! It’s a toss up for me between struggling with uncoated paper which picks up moisture and isn’t the best customer experience versus coated paper which holds up so much better, but it’s coated. Tough one, and I waffle back and forth. This white paper that I have is coated. 🙂

I have had a walk-in AC-adapted cooler for a few years (you’d see it in a few of my videos, like the Dahlias Earlier video); but I’ve just swapped that out for a glass front display cooler which fits better in my new studio space 🙂
