Was that first wand ever used in the films aside from that scene in Ollivanders?

That wand was used in the films Harry Potter and Philosopher’s Stone/Sorcerer’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets. The wands along with the hogwarts robes were changed in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Great attempt!! What did you use to stain/ preserve the wand? I’m a newbie to wand making (just released a video about my first attempts) and trying to learn more!

Thanks so much! I use a variety of different stains depending on which wood I'm using. The brand I primarily use is Varathane. I'll also add some bees wax or a protective layer of polyurethane after the stain, depending on the wand.

It's just over 14 inches. I went based off of the length of Harry's second wand design from the movies. I could have made it 11 inches like in the books, but I thought it would have looked a little small 😅

Oh nice! I'll check him out! Was going to make it out of holly, but it's pretty tough to get holly wood blanks where I'm located
