I love that you had a friend build with you. It gives people confidence that they can do it too. 😊

I plan on doing some more with her. It's fun crafting with someone else and great to show everyone that it's possible for anyone to follow along and make something beautiful

Man this is Epic! I just finished a swamp terrain and this would be amazing to add. Great, now I need to spend another week on terrain 🤣

Haha I love this! I'd love to see how your floating islands turn out. They're so fun to have sitting on the shelf and even better when used in game

Great video! I have avoided building my own terrain, as it feels like a lot of work, but you've really inspired me,

I love that! It's so much fun being able to pull out something that you've made for the table. And getting the player reactions to something custom is always extra fun. Happy crafting!

You honestly can't tell which one you made and which your friend made. You vids make me want to get into this more... but there are only so many hours in a day and I am all hobbied up ;)

Haha you're telling me! Never enough hobby hours in the day. And right! Her build came out perfectly to fit into the set. Anyone can do it with the right instruction or patience

Great feywild board. Since you ask, consider a temple of Orcus as your next build.

Cheers. Ohh I like this idea. A big demonic temple would be a pretty sick peice. It's added to the list!

You don't need to fire the foam, just use any sharp knife without any pressure. Let the tool do the job it's designed for at its own speed.

A knife works well on xps foam but I don't like the end textures with a knife on cheap polystyrene. All the balls fall apart and leave you with a heap of small round surfaces. Where as the fire brings the foam back to a smooth yet rough finish and also helps to make the sides nice and solid so you're less likely to have bits break off down the line. But in saying that if you're planning to cover it in the sculptamold and texture paints like I did in the end then it is completely unnecessary haha

A hot air gun would probably be perfact and fast for this! Could potentially make this terrain bit even more awesome using cork! As it has great texure when ripped up.

Your grass looks really fantastic and natural! Is it ready-made or have you mixed different grasses? If yes, which?

  • @SebMakesStuff

The grass is just some ready made stuff I got from a local hobby shop. I've gotten so many different kinds over the years so I've learned what to avoid (usually the super glossy stuff)

This was such a fun experience and so glad I got the chance to work with you on creating this. ☺️ for someone who has never crafted like this in her life - they certainly did come out looking great with the end result. Thank you for letting me be apart of your nerdy creations Seb! 🫶🏻☺️ I look forward to the next crafting session with you.
