Sr I have tried your method and it worked well, but I used 4.7g of FeCl3.6H2O and 4.0 of Fe2SO4.7H2O then i titrated with 6M NH4OH drop wise. then it takes 40 min to obtain FE3O4 naniparticles. Thank you

Hello, I have tried synthesizing magnetite using the method you have shown in this video. However, I did not add the ammonia hydroxide drop wise, I immediately added it. Upon vigorous stirring, the ppt became black and I left the solution to settle. I then tested it with a magnet and they were magnetite ppt. My question: Since I added the NH4OH immediately, is there any chance that the ppt are pre-mature? I want to use the ppt as pigment and for some reason I am unable to get the desired quality.

My guess is that adding all the ammonium hydroxide at once will produce larger spongey masses instead of discrete particles. Usually a surfactant such as sodium dodecyl sulfate (dishwashing soap may work) is added as well to reduce particle size as well.
