The reason you don't want to use your breath to blow away excess pigment/pastel is that sometimes spit will land on the model due to this and damage the work

Yea 100%, plus you'll get light headed, and the duster is more powerful.
You are helping me improve my confidence 🎉 I love your videos

Yay! So glad to hear ❤️
i love dapple greys!!
EVERYONE loves dapple greys. These turned out SO great! They'd totally win some ribbons at a model horse show with those fancy ribbons and gems! I really like that you used red primer. I wish you had put a little complementary color over it, like a light coat of blue, before you put the white down. It would have given a little brown subtlety to the airbrush layer. Greys can still have a little bit of brown, cause horse color expression is wild like that. Also, try a mop brush! They soften dapples soooo nice, and you can go back in and sharpen up what you want before sealing. I'm really impressed by your dapples by hand, though. Lots of patience! Any particular rule to follow when drawing them? Especially on areas like the face and legs?

Thank you! They have both NAN'ed so far so I'm super pleased, the shire even got a champion in the draft division 🥳 I did add a layer of brown to the resin horse, which I totally forgot about until now, but you can really only see it in the sun (at 36:06) And the mop brush looks cool, would cover a larger area. For drawing the dapples I really just try to follow the reference as close as possible. The face will usually always be pretty light so you don't need to add much, and the legs are usually dark with maybe just a little white peeking through.
I love greys and dapple greys, they are so pretty (and i love grooming)🥰 you did a amazing job
I love a dapple grey! You did a wonderful job~
You should make a dappled grey sabino! It’s totally possible and would look epic

That would be cool, maybe even a silver dapple sabino, the white ticking always does interesting things!

Hi, are you using Color Pop eyeshadow as part of the pigments you use on the models? Great idea.
Incredible :D How mamy hours you did the first one? I don't imagine doing it and I worki on 1: 20 scale, but thanks to you maybe one day 😂

Thank you!! I think I filmed around 8 hours of just dappling, and I didn't really film going back over with more layers. You totally should! I think the second method would probably be best for a smaller scale but if you could find a reeeeally tiny brush it would be cool to try the first, maybe I'll do a little test on a stablemate or something 😂
