Making Custom Guitar Straps, Installing Shaller Strap Locks & Making Leather Washers

While waiting on supplies for the next guitar build I'm making some custom leather guitar straps and show how to install the Schaller S-Lock strap locks.
To avoid damage to your guitar you need to have a soft washer in between the strap button and your guitar. In this video I show how I make these washers from some leather scraps.

Attention to detail is great as always - super craftsmanship, however I still think you should transition to Dunlop Flush-mounted Strap Locks … I put them on all my guitars as they’re so much sleeker than traditional buttons and lock setups.
Excellent video with great suggestions. I noticed a round plate with your emblem on the guitar strap. Would you give us more information on that? I would like to do something like that with my guitars, but I have no idea about how to go about it. Thank you.

Hi TeacherAn, The logo emblem on the strap is a stainless steel engraved label. I have these labels custom made by a label making company here in the Netherlands. Most engraving/label making companies should be able to make similar emblems for you. Just find one near you and ask for the possibilities.

Are taking orders for customized straps for Sinterklaas and Christmas?

Hi Marten, I can take custom orders for straps. To be ready in time for "Sinterklaas" it depends on what you're looking for and my stock of materials. Christmas shouldn't be a problem. Of course I also have a couple of the 'regular' Unquendor straps in stock at the moment. Just let me know.

Hi Leon, I get my leather supplies and tools from a Dutch company called "Strieder Lederwaren" in Berschenhoek.
