A trick with bath bombs is add the citric acid last after you’ve already put all the liquid in the baking soda mixture. It helps it not to activate prematurely. I do this with all of my bath bombs and steamers.

I love that saf uses “flavor” and “scent” interchangeably. It makes so much sense considering how often she eats uneatable yummy smelling things 😂

Water is supposed to get misted into the mix, witch hazel is a better choice because it has less water content. But for future reference and people who want to make bath bombs, isopropyl alcohol will do the best. Any strength has low water content and the liquid evaporates as it dries so you have less chance of activation during the making process.

I sure miss these amazing, chaotic, chaotic interesting and fun live streams!! 🥰 There’s no one quite like this crew…Saf, Ty, Carly and the rest!

I saw someone on TikTok who makes toaster shaped bath bombs called "My Last Bath Bomb."

One technique I saw that worked REALLY REALLY WELL with this press was mixing ONLY the baking soda and liquids in a kitchenaid stand mixer, THEN adding the citric acid by hand. And after a few presses when it gets too dry, spraying it with witch Hazel or alcohol. Also making sure humidity in the room was lower than 40%. I saw Royalty Soaps do it that way and it worked like a dream.

Can we please have a channel of Tyler just making short videos of him ranting about things he hates? 🤣 Like a Peter Griffin "grinds my gears" type of thing

Hi, as someone who also lives in NC I can tell you less is more when it comes to your binding agent (the water) and these were too wet, thats why the mix activated. Try spraying your water into your mix until you get the right consistency. Also, if the mix does activate try adding more dry ingredients to counter the moisture :)

The idea that the citric acid is the “activator” is not correct. It’s only when all *three* key ingredients combine! No one by itself is an activator. Citric acid + baking soda + water = FIZZZ 🌋 It’s just like the old vinegar and baking soda science fair volcano - except swap the vinegar for citric acid (then add water for reaction to begin). So, if water is added to citric acid alone, there would be no fizz. Same with baking soda. Need the acid + base + water.

If you mixed a bunch of diff little cups of dry mix with their own dyes then sprinkled them on top of the mound before pressing, that would have worked for the sprinkles effect you were going for on the pop tart one!

My grandkiddos and i made bath bombs for Christmas gifts one year with little plastic wrapped jewlery in it for their mom and cousin who both wanted certain rings We didnt use any water in our bombs but used melted cocoa butter and melted coconut oil. It stablized the mix better and we got beautiful sharp bombs (we used a snowflake soap mold) But my daughter told us to not use so many lavender flowers as they were a mess to clean out of yhe tub . We also made citric acid and baking soda tablets for cleaning toilets. But they cleaned better if you added a cup of white vinegar in the bowl first, cleaning wise

So when is the ill-advised Safiya x Nilered collab where they turn a glove into lipstick, or something equally chaotic?

I used to have an Etsy shop of bath bombs. Try mica powder for the pop tart frosting on the bath bomb and your mix is too wet bc it’s so hot lately you need to adjust your dry ingredients a tiny bit bc science
