You should mess with Earthbound/Mother soundfonts next!

Nintendo used the Roland Sound Canvas to create the music for the games they developed all the way up to the GameCube. There’s a VST for it, but you can probably find a hardware model for cheap these days.

dude i've got a folder of a TON of mario sound libraries from a few games! Found it on reddit maybe 3/4 years ago lol. it's got super smash, mario sunshine, mario kart 8, mario kart double dash, paper mario, and legend of zelda wind waker. most of the folders have like at least 1000 sounds! let me know if you want that Clark!

My first DAW was FruityLoops (remember when it was FruityLoops?) but my other main sources of joy were NES trackers and making stuff out of SNES and N64 soundfonts. Watching someone experience that thrill "fresh" and immediately make a beat out of it was awesome
