The materials list is long only because of various options. You might find better prices if you look around. See if you have a local plastics distributor to buy from. Aside from getting quality and knowledge, the amount you'll save on shipping is significant. Piedmont Plastics has quite a few locations, their prices are lower by far than anything online - without shipping, I can save around 30-50% than Amazon. And they have an incredible clearance section! For under $1, you can bend an acrylic sheet into a tube ... not really useful, but cheap!
