Don't get discouraged with the jigs! The skunk happens to all of us, when you least expect it. Lol. On a side note, 10/10 on the Creek Chub fun facts. And... ...I have mentioned this in one of your other videos, but your creations are gold. Every single video! The essence is that you show the entire production of the product -- from beginning to end. And THAT is a lot of hard work!!! More than that, it is ART. Just so you know...Your vids always make me appreciate my custom lures a little bit more; especially the saltwater ones. Cuz I see now how much damn work folks put into them! Tight lines!

Well I'm a bait maker so I use that baking soda technique, my mom goes downstairs to do the laundry and sees a measuring cup with a razor blade in there, she is almost in tears and then ask me how long have I been doing cocaine. I just thought you'd enjoy that and also make a catfish swimbait

I always legitimately love when you're kinda rambling about something then say you'll cut it out of the video but leave it in anyway. It's just funny to hear. Love the videos.

your transparency is inspiring me, a retired serious fishing fool known in these parts turned cannabis cultivator. Your videos are inspiring me to pick up a rod. walk to the creek in my back yard and giving it a try. You're incredible, and very humble to share your gift with us...not trying to monetize it. shove lure promotions, your website...or anything else down our throats. i want to look you up more, just because of it. because you are so confident in your craft,. and CLEARLY your lures are worth paying money for. keep up the honest work man, love it.
7:05 fun fact: filming frame rate matches drill press rpm, causing this effect
Do a series called "Getting Learnt With A Baitmaker" where you teach us things about lures or fishing history or something. @Marling Baits

Sort of stumbled across your videos, which are great by the way! When I was younger and could not afford lures, I would use bottle caps, bent in half with bb's inside for weight and rattle. I'd pretty much use whatever I had, it was always a blast to catch a fish or two with something I made, which is why I enjoy your videos. Keep the videos coming!
The reaction to Extreme Philly Fishing's intro was the best part.
Good to see Chip again. I was worried about him after the last video.

Sweet jig head! We put our curly tail grubs on with the curl in the opposite direction of the bend of the hook. It stops you from foul hooking the tail on larger grubs and on the fall the trail has more action because the water and the natural curl of the grub are fighting each other. Also make a west coast saltwater style swimbait. Big Hammer and Fish Trap are the most common style. Put your own twist on them.
I've spent three days watching videos on how to make different kinds of lures and what I'll need. I Got This..
Moment of silence for the jigs. One like, one prayer 🙏🏻

Yous should really make like some trout spinners sorta like rooster tails... just an idea
@evan4856
5 жыл бұрын
I like using rooster tails. I catch a little bit of everything with them.
No matter how many lures you lose or hours you exhaust trying to catch a fish that you're ultimately gonna release, you're still special because there's no one else in the world just like you and I (pretty much) like you just the way you are
Yay! Finally! A creek chub funfacts!!
I suggest making a spook or walking style bait. Maybe a trout or chub paint scheme.

Jigs are "arguably" the most effective lure ever invented. What you have done with the concept is brilliant! Naturally weedless, sinks slower than lead, relatively easy to reproduce... Winner, winner, fish for dinner!!! Or release them, a bit smarter than before... :)
These always inspire me to try to make my own lures... I've always wanted to!
He kinda sounds like an old man when he says “I was sitting in my chair.”
The creek chubs where I live school up in huge schools there will be about 100+ in a school and they eat anything I catch then and use them as catfish bait.
I can’t get enough of your videos!!
Getting learndt with a bait maker! Reminds me of your fun facts idea. You're amazing, keep being yourself!!
I said in on Instagram and I'll keep saying it. You should make a baby paddlefish lure. Might be difficult but those things would murder at a spillway I swear.

22:33 Boy, when you try to drown that thing it makes motorcycle noises. That's cool! Excellent video Nate. Thanks for taking the time when you have so much other stuff to look after, especially right now.
Maybe try tying a different/ stronger knot that’s more braid friendly?
I want to make lures like you so much so I’m going to pursue it!
You've inspired me to start making baits. I have always though about it but never felt I could but you make it look like so much fun.
“Nobody cares about this as much as I do” marlin you are the sole person who got me started with lure making!!! I am hoping to start a business soon!!! It’s just difficult with college being first!
Cost of business for fishing with jigs. If you're not getting snagged once in awhile then you're not fishing them right.

I've watched a fair amount of Marling Baits videos and have enjoyed each and every one.Makes me think back when I was a very young fella and trying some home made baits.
Who ever dislikes this video you are crazy
Those jigs were to heavy for that snag infested river. I have a river like that where I live complete with logs and heavy rock bottom. I always used to lose lures until I went lighter in weight. A weedless barb might not be a bad idea either.
I'm really glad I'm not the only one who forgets to change their exposure on their gopro.
3 or 4 fishing videos maker pop up in my notify..i still slide it out..but when it goes to marling baits..ill squash that PLAY button..😂😂

@indianaredneck7076

But what's rule number 1 2 and 3?!?!?
@iankrom510
4 жыл бұрын
Rule 1: keep the bait far away from the fishing snacks. Rule 2: any and all loose hooks will find there way to your skin; by law of universal attraction. Rule 3: as soon as you tell someone they are “fishing all wrong”, they will catch the biggest fish of the day.
you should do a series where you take old projects like this and fish them at your new favorite spots.
It's really good to have you back "Baitman", I'm almost glad that you seem unfocused and not quite in frame. If you just came out like the guy that was here last month I'm not sure that would have been good. It's a radical change, having a kid, so go easy my friend. You are still the coolest personality on KZread and I'll bet fish indeed quiver at the mention of your name!
