Just like Christmas morning 2 of your videos to watch and I had a loaf of soap to cut. Cutting soap is just like a kiln opening it is a surprise to see how the designs turned out
I use damp boxes too…only need 3/4” plaster in the base. Good for rehydrating dry pieces as well as keeping work damp!

Oh thanks! I'm going to make one here soon. I have the plaster, just need to buy the Rubbermaid tub.
It made so much sense when you said to dry the mug upside down so the handle doesn’t pull on the mug!! I have always had my mugs go wonky where I attach the handle and I can see now it was because it was pulling on the mug!!!! Thank you soo much. I recently bought the Nidec extruder and I really like it alot!! You can use sandpaper around the hole of your handle maker to smooth the little burrs and get a smoother handle. Also you can use a metal file, flat or round, to adjust the shape of the die you already have!! Also, if you make the log as close to the size of the barrel as you can and then press it in really well you won’t get the holes and burps in the extrusions. I don’t even clean mine!! I leave clay in it and then it’s ready when you need it! Just pinch off the first l little piece of clay on the outside and you’re ready to go!! Thanks so much for the video.

Thanks so much for all the tips! ❤️ Leaving the clay in the extruder would make it even more convenient to use. I'll try the sanding. My handle disks are made out of plastic, though, because my son made them for me, but I think the sanding may work. Thanks!!
Hi Lisa I did a recycling bin with Tupperware, just get one the size you thing is good for you, pour 2” plaster inside and let it sets, just put you slip and scraps inside and next day is good to use, you don’t have to take out the plaster from the bin live there it will dry and the walls are good for contain the splashes. Just a note let the plaster dry the first time about a week before you start using it. 🤗

Asalam-o-alikum! I have it with 16 disks for crackers and snacks making 🤣😂🤣😂 but know I will try for poetry. from Pakistan.
Lisa another tip after you make your log to put inside the extrude roll the cling plastic on the log leaving about 1” with no plastic on the edge and fold the left over plastic on the back , insert inside the extruded pipe, when you all done you just have a little inside to clean about a inch to clean and the cover you don’t even need to take apart the gun to clean 🤗

Hello Everyone! I bought the clear plastic signature stamp with my name on it, from an Etsy Shop, called, CookieCuttersGallery. They did a really nice job! It didn't take long, and wasn't very expensive.
Oh goodie! I am here handbuilding and you can keep me company!! 😊

Hi Lisa, thank you for another interesting video full of great tips. You mentioned that your extruder is like a pressure gun (not exact words) I've been thinking of using one to have a play around with. Heaven only knows how it will work.

Thanks for watching! ❤️ I really feel like it saves me so much time making mug handles. And so far it seems like it's very well made. No complaints so far.
Pat Furr....I saw your message, but after I read it, it wouldn't let me access it again to answer your question. So hopefully you will see this message. CookieCuttersGallery made my stamp for me. (You may have your messages set to vanish after someone reads it. Apparently, it's a relatively new setting on Facebook and Instagram. So check your settings. Thanks! 😀
