Solder Fumes are annoying and dangerous...
In an industrial setting the air is cleared by large extractors with 3 stage filters - this is not so easy at home, so I've made a small, desktop extractor that works really well - with a new, double chamber design!

That's a nice design. I'm looking forward to seeing how the larger version performs.

Man those LEDs are a nice touch! I frequently struggle with getting light in the right place so I'll have to consider something similar next time I break out the CAD software. Fortunately PWM controllers are cheap online so making the fan speeds controllable should be as easy as giving one of those 12v. Looking forward to more projects for sure!

Excellent video production quality. Would be very interested in flies.

Not sure if England has the same classifications but we have lead free solder as well as leaded in the US. They might be referring to the lead free version. Its "safer" to breath in and handle but you probably shouldnt.

Putting multiple fans in series has horrible diminishing returns. Just use an impeller and compress the air into the filter. Also a fan designed for higher static pressure that you would put on your radiator instead of just case fans could do the trick as well. Using an impeller is still the go to option.

Thanks for your thoughts - as I say in the video - it's working well for me - and it's just a simple project to make something useful out of easily available parts and a bit of printing...
