Hahaha I was waiting for someone to catch that. I pretty much never use linen and always forget.

Thanks Dan hope all is well!
Nice 👍
That’s really nice. I’m actually making myself a journal cover right now, so you gave me some cool ideas. I see that you’re left handed, I am also. I’m thinking about making my journal cover left handed, but I haven’t decided yet because I’m so use to notebooks being right handed.

Thanks! Left handed covers would be a great niche idea I never thought of that. Too used to being abused in a right-handers world haha.
Great video man! Keep it up, love your content. Where did you purchase the white cutting mat?
nice to see lefthand worker, i'm also lefthand. nice work.

Left handers unite!!
Perfect timing! I was looking for an A5 journal cover pattern. Even better that it’s made to fit the brand of journals on Amazon that I’ve had my eye on.

Awesome! Yeah I tried to "average" the best selling Amazon journal sizes for fit.
Quick question for you, where do you get your acrylic patterns made? Thanks! Very well done on the video too!!
This is really lovely. Thanks for sharing. I have a question if I may? I would like to use hard back journals so is this design possible with those?

Thank you! I did not try one but Im thinking it should work unless the cover is extremely thick. I need to get some hardcovers for next notebook project.
I want this leather
CHAPÓ!! 👍👌
WOW! I have this beautiful but THICK 8/9oz water buffalo I'm wondering if that would be took thick for this project. I am thinking for the inside pockets it would definitely be too thick
OLD LEATHER SMITH here. Very Nice, easy 2 understand 4 beginners. Suggestion, Bees Wax on all punches, goes into and comes out of the Leather easier, in my opinion the snaps used will wear out before the item they R installed in. GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️⚾️🙃
I'm really impresses to your work sir can you show me the how to make tablet cover please sir
Can I use leather that is 2.8-3.0mm for this?
Nice! My thinking is, if you have to sew all the way around the outside, you might as well line it (kipskin, pigskin, etc.)
@MAKESUPPLYLEATHER

True that. I wanted to but couldnt find a lining I liked in stock. Everything looked like it would clash with the color.
I was looking for a new project

If handstitching get the fingers ready its a doozy!
What exactly were you doing with that big piece of glass? (9:06)
@MAKESUPPLYLEATHER
2 жыл бұрын
The linen thread has a "round" profile that doesnt lay flat when you are pulling the stitches. I used the glass burnishers to go over the stitch lines and flatten down the thread for uniformity. Usually do this with a finishing hammer but it goes faster with the glass.

@@MAKESUPPLYLEATHER cool. Thanks.
Would you please start putting the gauge of the leather for each project at the beginning of the videos? I'm new to leathercraft, and almost no one says anything about the leather---what type, what gauge, etc. they don't even put it on the patterns they sell. What's up with that? Thank you.
@MAKESUPPLYLEATHER

I will add to future videos. I write the thickness in the description below for all projects.

@@MAKESUPPLYLEATHER thank you so much.
I just love it when crafts people throw their things onto the workbench. It shows a lack of respect for the materials and the viewers. It’s like “oh look! I can do this trivial shit without any effort at all, you talentless peons”. Nice work though, it doesn’t need the theatrics.
this would be the very first of mankind ever, working in such a pristine shop. very disturbing
I don’t learn anything if you don’t speak

You learn from the pattern they sell and the written instructions on their website. This is just a follow along to show the process.
