I'm a retired race car fabricator. Mind you, not on NASCAR racers, but many others. I like the idea of the aluminum panels. For non-structural panels in race cars, the layout of rivets is usually more widely spaced than what your pounce wheels do. So I was thinking maybe buy a couple sets and one set grind away every other point from the wheel. A while back I saw a pounce wheel on the craft table at my wife's friend's house that had a steel wheel with plastic handle. Maybe it would be better to do such experiments on the less expensive one. For real rivet-counter accuracy, the layout of rivets (or screws) would actually involve measuring a certain distance in from the end to place the 1st 2 rivets, then measuring the distance between those 2 and dividing to get the proper spacing. That would call for doing 1 rivet at a time, which would get to be a lot more work. For full scale work, such as on aircraft, there's an accordion tool for that. Your blue Daytona is beautiful.

Yes rule books will help y'all big time. Because if it can be done or is done to a real racecar it is done to a model as well. For all your your circle track racing stuff rule books for divisions like modifieds and outlaw latemodels and pro trucks ECT will give a a diagram on the body panel measurements and chassis measurements ect

I love your techniques for dioramas and metal racks and different stages of construction of a cup car you do very neat and helpful. When I started getting it in my mind that same thing I do to real racecars can be done to model cars and sur enough it works and I been having a lot better time scratch building and making my own custom oval track cars. I love 5 minute epoxy I use it every where I can and I build huge RC airplanes from balsa and hobby grade ply wood off plans so I have plenty your attention to detail is amazing man. And also have you found a good way for doing bead rolls in flat styrene sheet for decking in latemodels like asphalt and even dirt late models and modifieds I have not found a good way to get a clean bead roll look. And also you everyone almost every racecar has crush panels we just use sheet of aluminum bend it and fill it in for local track stuff like latemodels now nascar is a little different they have rule on how thick and how much of a over lap it has to be. I need that contour gauge that's nice. Your builds you show in pics is crazzy man I bet it takes you a good year on one model if you really detail it out 100 percent for show
