Thank you! I used 1x4s for the legs and I used #8 1-1/4” screws!

Amazing job. This is the best Pikler triangle video i have seen. Could you tell me please the measurements of the legs and the triangle that holds them together?

Thank you! 2 legs are 32” long and the other two legs are 36” long. The triangle I made it 9”x10” and just centred the line and cut the angle on the mitre saw! Should be around 30 degrees! Hope that helps!

@@AceWoodCo Thanks for your message :) Definitely helpful. I am able to get dowels which are 28mm (1.1 inches) diameter and wood for the legs which is 18mm (0.71 inches) thickness. Do you think the legs would be to thin for the dowels? I can double up the leg wood to be 1.42 inches if necessary. How thick were the legs on yours? Thanks again.

@@UndercoverRat these legs on mine that I built are 3/4” inch thick, so I think 18mm would work, but If you want it to be a bit more sturdy I would just double them up to add a bit more too it! Cheers!

I find this the best Pikler Triangle design! Gonna follow through and build one for my 1-year old! I have a couple questions: 1. When fully open and placed on ground, is the bottom of the small triangles parallel to the ground? It looks like they are probably close but not precisely parallel, is that right? Does it affect usage? 2. It's a smart design to have the long legs rest on the short legs! But there are only two fastening screws on each of the shorter legs, the connector screws on the long legs is only for rotating purpose. Do you find the overall structure sturdy and stable enough? Does it wobble when in use? I hope my kid can play till he's 4 or 5 years old. Thanks!

I would say they are parallel. I don't think it affects usage at all. I would recommend either putting the pikler on carpet or on something soft until they get use to it, and that also helps it from sliding on hardwood. I find it quite stable, But you could always add a star knob with a locking nuts (or even just screws) that goes from the triangle to the long ladder rails so it "locks" in place just for added security! If you want sturdier ladder rungs I would shorten them a couple of inches. Enjoy the build!

Great video. How can you hide the t-nuts on the back so that side can be used as a slide?

I think if you’re wanting to hide the r nuts I’d inset the holes so the t nuts are recessed and glue a thinner plywood sheet so it covers it. That’s my initial thoughts!

What kind of screw did you use for the long leg to attach to the triangle? I’m having trouble finding one that will be able to rotate?

I don’t have plans right now, but may make some in the future. I went with 1” dowels and they are around 4” apart 👍

I made these dowels 29” but anywhere between 24”-29” would work. I mark the first rung at the top of the long ladder at 1 1/4” then space them 5” to the center. For the short ladder I mark at 2 1/4” from the top, then I mark 5” for the other rungs. I used poplar dowels. Hope this helps! 👍

My first though would be some type of pvc conduit clamp style thing. They would just have to screw it in place once they find a height they like. That would be the best security. Hope that helps!

@@AceWoodCo For the climbing holds, would you mind sharing a link where you bought them from? Most I found on Amazon come with 1.5" long bolts, which is too long for the climbing board. Or did you buy bolts separately from somewhere else? Also, what's the size of the forstner bit you used to drill holes for the weld nuts? Thanks!!

@@yijiazhan45 Hey there, I ended up cutting the bolts down but didn't get footage of that part. You could either use a grinder or a hack saw. If I recall I used a 3/8" forstner bit, But I would order your climbing holds you like and base your sizes off that. Hopefully that helps!

@@AceWoodCo Ho again! Do your weld nuts pull out easily? I followed the way you did it and hammered them into the ramp, but once the holds are connected by the bolts, the weld nuts are pulled out so easily :(. Does welt nuts actually work to be on the same side of the bolt on a board?

@@yijiazhan45 hmm. That hasn’t happened to me before. Weld nuts should but on the underside of the ramp and the bolts will go through the ramp and climber holds will be on the other side. It should go weld nuts-board-rock climbing holds. Let me know if that helped
