I'm a gold Smith your work is very impassive and passionate.
SO an expert jeweler and sketch artist. Good stuff. And that free hand bail solder. And the crowd goes wild!
Wish we could see the actual inlaying of some of these smaller diamonds. NEVERMIND! You fulfill the wishes of your viewers right after they express them haha! You gained an instant subscription for that, Lord of all metals!

So intricate. I can’t even fathom beginning to create something like that. That comes only from hard work and devotion to the ancient tradition of goldsmithing. Lovely piece.

Jan Hendrik Viljoen I would be very greatful cause I’m learning different settings but have no idea how to properly hold this small thing while shaping.
I've not long purchased a pear cut teal coloured Aquamarine and have intended to have it made into a pendant in white gold set with a halo of diamonds, except due to my stone being some what smaller than yours at 2.37ct will be introducing negative space around the main stone. I also would like to have a baguette diamond set as the bale - price permitting! It was quite interesting and very well timed to view this process. Thank you.
Amazing!
Great job!

Hi Thanks for your videos How to made a herringbone chain by hand?
Nice video and nice jewelry, but why the gap at the end of the stone ?
How do you measure how much gold you need as far as chain length ex say i want to make a 20inch chain with 3mm that weight around 7 grams
I am wondering what the white powder is? And what is it's purpose ? (I love this video by the way, have watched it many, many times).
🔥👍
Wow, i have never seen something like this! The crafting makes the pendant more valuable than the materials. But what about the gold dust? Would it not be worth to collect it?
@JanHendrikViljoen

Thank you! I do collect the gold filings for re use later on.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Also what kind of Black wax is that? What is it called (I would love to buy some). Thank you.

AMAZING pendant! Looks fantastic! But I don't really like that gap between the bottom of the gem and the gallery. It is there intentionally?

jonikq Yes, in this case I did not want the underbezel showing through the stone so I lifted it about 1mm. The stone is secure and has plenty support

@@jonikq Normally I would sit the stone right on top of the underbezel. Especially for rings. In this case the stone is set in a pendant that will not have to endure the hammering you usually get with rings
Really great video process. Music is okay. Just some advice, a bit too close to the camera on the intro. makes me wanna skip as its uncomfortable. Like that one guy in a conversation that always stands way too close when talking to you.

Thank you. Unfortunately the focus function on my camera is broken. I need to get a new camera to solve the problem. Thank you for your input!
Thank you for posting another inspiring video. May I ask what is the black modable medium you used to hold the pieces while you worked on them, and the wire used to hold the pieces during soddering?
@JanHendrikViljoen
5 жыл бұрын
The black medium is setters shellac. I use iron binding wire to hold pieces together when soldering.

Great vid ! Well made ! Just one question, after you set the diamonds why did you tap it with that ball with white powder in it ? Thanks !
@JanHendrikViljoen
4 жыл бұрын
The white powder is talc powder to reduce the glare of the stones while setting. This enables me to see more clearly what I am doing and how the metal moves and shapes during setting.
Hi Sir! You do amazing work! May I ask why you use the black ‘peck, tar...’ instead off thermoloc?
@JanHendrikViljoen
4 жыл бұрын
The setters shellac is much easier to remove from holes and crevices using acetone or thinners than the thermoloc.
Could you please tell me what you are dusting it with and what is it for.
@JanHendrikViljoen
5 жыл бұрын
I am dusting with some talcum powder. It make it a bit easier to see what is happening with the prongs when I set. The talcum powder reduces the glare from the diamonds
1000000.......
What an amazing talent you have... All i can think of is me getting 3/4 of the way throughu this process and my hand slipping... Good golly, you must have nerves of steel!!! I hate to ask, but has that ever happened to you? What on earth did you do? Can mistakes me corrected or would you have to start over?
