📝 ABOUT THIS VIDEO
Melodic loops are one of the easiest and most effective ways to start a beat. They provide instant inspiration and a solid direction since the loop has already set the melodic groundwork.
But how exactly do you turn a loop into a full beat?
How do you know what chords to add to a pre-existing melody? How do you find suitable drums to match everything else? In this week's video, Ivan Calderon answers these questions as he walks you through how he made a full beat from a loop in Studio One 5.
In this video, you will learn:
-His favorite tool at the moment for coming up with chords
-How to layer your drums for better textures and groove
-How to create an exciting arrangement with plenty of dynamics

I think the 808 during the verse and bass guitar during chorus. Gives it a bounce for the hook if that make sense

Are you using a mixer that works for studio one? When you change the gain on your physical mixer it looks like its adjusting it in your software.

So annoying, that the Group folder is creating a block on the arr window. Any tips to get rid off it?

Cool track. I still think the bass guitar was better, but the 808 works well enough. Do you think the verses could have been 8 or 12 bars instead 16? They seemed a bit long. But 🔥 for sure dude. Loved how you cut up the sample in the verses.

I agree. I’ll probably end up cutting those verses down to 12. And thanks Andrew! 🙌🏽

Also you need to get an apc, that protects you when storms happen and it will give you time to save your session and power down. 10-22-22

Pero los acordes que hace el Loop son "Em9-A13-F#m7add11-Bm7b9sus4". Lo que tocas con el bajo, no coincide. Me he perdido en esa parte. disculpa si te molesta mi opinión.

Following the harmony? He used the root notes of his chords. What exactly do you mean harmony? Definition, the combination of simultaneously sounded musical notes to produce chords. The rote note is also the lowest, the bass note of the chord. So how can that be wrong?
