Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Super clear, coherent and plentiful explanation of every step; never rambling, just thorough and purposeful. You’re an excellent speaker and I learned a ton. I wish more tutorial guys online had your knack for it!

Thanks John. This takes a lot of fear out of building a guitar and also busts a lot of myths too.

Great vid thanks , really enjoyed it . Perhaps make yer templates out of clear plexiglass so one can really see the grain as you're moving and choosing. I guess a clear pickguard might allow some cool grain below to peep out. Cheerz . Great stuff .

On the topic of mechanical pencils, have a go on the tracer pencil. Awesome bit of kit. Not sure how it'll be for a chippy but as a spark it's pretty much the only tool I'll replace instantly if I lose

I learned a good lesson today, before you use a router bit make sure the little alan grub screw is tight on the collar. I didn't and yep the collar rose up and the router went nuts and took a gouge out. thinner, so the router will probably go all the way through in places , like the vol and tone pot area, if it does i will put a sheet of mahogany on the back to hide the mistake

I have a problem Huston, I can't keep a center line. It's a disability for me. Math related. Having said that, with slide guitar's, it's far less important as long as you have a decent cigar box collection and some scale length templates. I built 5 cigar box guitar's and I liked the option of having a movable bridge. Lol 😆 2 were a stationary bridge and one was a cut up fo an old guitar. I had a hard time placing the bridge and got it right after the third try. What a way to see what one's made of. I suggest for the harder projects to take some type of brain enhancing lion's mane mushrooms cause it's not easy for dudes like me. Thanks for all the little tips too.

Hi John,, love your Video,, just thinking, what if you had run your router around the outside edge of the template down to maybe 10mm before you took the blank to the bandsaw, that way you you could have used the edge of your route to complete the remainder of your body???..

Yeah that could work it would prevent some tear out. Ideally I could do with a good router table.

Instead of routing the outer edge of the guitar body use a belt sander table with the belt perpendicular to the table. Sand up to the line. You wont' use the template other than drawing your outer edge. No tear out.
