Making a Rustication Tool for Tobacco Pipes - By Sherwood Pipes
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video, I'll take you through the process of making a tool to create a really cool traditional rustication style for tobacco pipes. This tool is not very hard to make, requires little equipment, is inexpensive, and works amazing!
If you want to see a pipe being made with this style of rustication, check out my previous video!

I remember years ago wondering how the heck this texture was achieved. Was pretty funny to learn it was done by glueing a bunch of nails into a block of wood and twisting it into the briar like some old torture device 😂 Works like a charm tho!
Amazing work... I need more. XD
nice tuition on making this tool. Looking forward to the next pipe project. Maybe something like a Sherlock Holmes pipe 😁😁

Absolutely! Thank you for the comment!
nice to see making the tools that you need props
very cool... I'm hoping one day to do pipes, but I make wooden flutes and thought about using some rustication, maybe esp. on a particularly hard species...? I like how it can be bark-like in contrast to pale/smooth as if debarked. I need to learn how to stain it darker but cleanly along a line. Like I assume it can't be a stain that penetrates or I'd not be able to sand off excess that got past the line into the smooth wood meant to be paler.
hermoso trabajos saludos desde ARGENTINA
SeaRock! 🙂👍
Awesome job and fine looking tool. From the title pick I honestly thought it was a busted pipe re-purposed.
