Working on a rock now and will try your aluminum foil technique. Also like the grinding wheel to smooth down.

Remember, it’s best to leave that on for an hour or so and let it dry just a little bit you’ll get a better texture. Don’t forget not to leave it on overnight. It’s a bugger to get off.

What kind of glue do you use? Also, in case you're interested, I've had great results deburring concrete using a brick or piece of concrete block. I love the cross in your yard.

There’s a lot of different manufactures for the glue that we use but it’s important that you get a glue that’s 100% water based acrylic. As for the cross on my rock wall... Yes my savior is Jesus Christ. I appreciate both you watching my videos, giving good feedback and admiring the cross.

That’s a great way to keep blackberries from spreading (surrounding them with your faux rocks). As someone who has lived around blackberries I know they will continue to expand their territory if not blocked or regularly cut back, and the bigger their territory gets the more likely they are to become a place for rodents to infest, better to keep a small controlled patch.

Using this technique, would these stones be stackable? Say if I wanted to make a pillar of 12x12x12 inch stones. Would they withstand weight? Your videos, demonstrations, instructions, all are top notch. I would LOVE to take your class.

@@fauxrock you should increase your rates. How many players are in the faux rock making biz. I’d say 60-90$ a sq/ft is still reasonable for your skill level , also if there’s some added color and hydro seal. Thanks for sharing your craft.
Heres a idea. Why not built a handle for the grinding wheel. All you need is a long screw a washer and dowel or a square piece of wood. It would make hold that wheel all kinds of easy.

I am so enjoying these vids and am desperate to have a go myself some day.. One question, if you intended to apply some colour to the rock would adding oxides to the sealant/cement slurry be the way to go? Thank you in advance.

There’s 12 main techniques to staining rock... yes integral color is widely utilized in this industry, I prefer to stain the rock after it is built and dry. I use 100 percent acrylics to make a penetrating stain. Thanks for watching my videos

Well, thanks for that feedback… I don’t have a specific video on that particular color. I do go over some staining on some of my KZread videos but very little because it’s really hard to get across in film.

@@fauxrock I completely understand. Your channel is full of gems. Months of looking around at this and that, learning what I can, only to find your techniques are exactly what I wanted. Other people do paint instructions, but sometimes there’s no voice, or very little/poor presentation. If you did one, all you have to do is SAY what you’re doing. You’re a great instructor, upload that video at 240 resolution and it will be a hit!

Formulations for the different hydrocele mixes that we use are only given to customers who have either purchase the DVD course or attended a hands-on class

WTF is a “briggler?” And where TF do you get certification? Because tinkerer is the closest definition I can find that makes sense and I don’t know where to get tinkerer certification, but would like to know where and how…. and if that ain’t it I want to know what you’re doing….

@@Rick_Sanchez_C137_ So, you have to know a Certified Briggler to start and they/we are a fast-approaching-extinction species. Briggling came to US from NW europe/Brittania; it is learned at the foot of Master Brigglers, as an internship. I learned from my Irish GF years ago. Good luck learning to briggle.

Keep in mind this is still a ham manipulated process, which holds no candle to a molded rock as you’re not trying to simulate you’re copying replicating whatever time you want to use.. thanks for your positive feedback and I really appreciate you taking your time to watch my video

I don’t use any store-bought Hydro seal mixtures, Depending on what I’m doing there are different hydrocele mixtures or formulations that I have come up with.
