I was playing trivia at a local restaurant this week. The final question was a "double your entire score" question & it asked what you're making if you're using the saponification process... I immediately knew the answer from watching your videos & my team won the game! Thank you Katie!

Do a garden picknick! Maybe a high tea picknick? That seems like your type of thing! Invite a lot of people over and ask them to dress up in style (beautiful flowing summer dresses galore). You can have a bunch of pretty picknick blankets with a basket with treats and drinks on each, or a table with a buffet. Flowers all over the place, flower crowns for the kids and for you, fairy lights and lanterns for when it gets dark...

Actually, as an adult I have realized that keeping my expectations basic helps me actually enjoy my birthdays 😅 If I expect magic, then I kust get stressed. I really like someone's idea of renting a movie theater. Sounds like a great idea!

I would love for Polly's soap to come back and the idea of helping Polly get her swing set would be awesome. Then keeping it around with donations to Down Syndrome would be wonderful. I'd buy every time it was available. I'd even tell my aunt about the soap. I know she'd be happy to support as my cousin has Down Syndrome as well.

First, thank you for the update on Polly. Sell those bars! I have been watching your channel since the shed days, and I feel like you're a friend of mine! My eldest daughter turned the big 30 yesterday, and what a day she had! Her husband took her out to a 5-star restaurant, after getting her cupcakes from Nothing But Bundt cakes and a bouquet of flowers from a real florist. They ate appetizers, a full meal, after dinner drinks, and she got a candle in a creme brulee. Thy had 4 hours to themselves!!! Grandpop and Babi ( me ) got to babysit. It was a beautiful day for all. Just saying, I hope Caleb steps up like Ty did. I hope your birthday is totally memorable and satisfying. You have consistently inspired me, and now I have a little soap shop, teaching adults with disabilities manufacturing skills, helping them be creative and laughing all the time. ;D

Birthday idea: rent out a movie theater (single screen, of course) for 2 sessions and hold a giant birthday party with all your family, friends, and employees. Feature one of your favorite movies and have cupcakes and popcorn.

@@RoyaltySoaps You can buy inflatable movie screens, but if you invest in an inexpensive DVD projector, you will have it for years, for any family gatherings throughout summer after summer. Actually, depending on how much land you have, you can do it out in the open, invite neighbours, set up a lemonade stand for Polly where she can make extra money, if they want to donate towards the movie night, they can, etc, and have a neighbourhood summer party now and then.

my bf’s moms has a local theater that does this about $200, up to 20 people, any movie they have playing, & i think a certain amount of concessions are covered we did it for my bf’s 21st it was so fun

@@tinytebs When I visit my Auntie in Idaho, the Lewiston parks department does this in the park near her house on Fridays during the summer. They have conscessionaires, people bring chairs, blankets, etc. Just a fun, free movie night.

I have been watching you make soap since before Lily was born, and the first order I ever placed from Royalty Soap included a Polly Bar. I didn’t expect this video to be so nostalgic, but loved it! “Be sure to do something fun for yourself” for your upcoming birthday, and let us know what you come up with. My sister turns 30 this week and is celebrating by going to South Africa!

I think more of a goldie or lighter green/ translucent glitter would work better on this one. The dark green isn’t giving the same summer vibes. This one might also be cute with a gemstone in it, or maybe a little melt and pour ice cube

I love this design so much, especially the way the top was textured! Also as a chemist, thank you so much for promoting the use of proper PPE in your soap making. A lot of people have no idea how far things as simple as the long sleeves, gloves, and safety glasses you wear in your videos actually go towards keeping you safe, especially with something like lye.

I have a hot dog cart where I sell fresh-squeezed lemonade from and let me tell you....honeydew lemonade sells fantastically well when it is in season!! Love, love, love this!!! I like the glitter it gives it that extra flash of pizzazz!

I turn 30 on the 6th and I’m literally just hanging with my bestie and her kids all day. We’ll see where the day takes us. I told her that I just wanted to hang with my favorite person all day.

Bday idea is to do something you've never done before. I went paintballing for my 40th a couple of years ago! I found a place that had paintball guns safe enough for my young kiddos and we all had fun! Maybe that isnt your thing, but find something you've always wondered about and do that!

For my husband’s 30th we invited all his friend to enjoy his favourite food (chili!) and decorated with a nostalgia theme. For him that meant Thomas the tank engine, Pokemon, Mario, etc. He loved it!

I turned 30 in January. I did not want any big celebrations as I’m pregnant and already felt a little overwhelmed with being the center of attention with a baby shower coming up. Plus I had to work nightshift on my actual birthday. My husband surprised me with flowers and a chocolate chip muffin with a candle after my nightshift which was so sweet. And later on that week we went out for dinner. It was great.

I didn't think I had been watching you videos for so long, but you said Lily is turning 7 and I remember finding your channel just before you announced your pregnancy. Wow.

I don’t know if it’s your cup of tea, but we went camping just overnight for my husband and I’s 30th birthdays (we’re only 2 months apart in age) somewhere without cell service just us and some family and it was amazing! Since it was just overnight we did some ‘fancier’ camping foods and strung fairy lights and made ‘gourmet’ s’mores.

My friend threw me a "Death of Your 20's" Party and it was SO FUN the entire thing was spookie and funeral themed and we had a picture wall of our friendships throughout the years and a tiny coffin that said "here lies your youth" it was hilarious and a very fun celebration.

I feel like each slice needs a dehydrated lime embed in the centre, rind facing up!

Also turning 30 this year and also a Texas lady. Stationed in Spain and the tomato throwing festival is two days before my birthday in August so I convinced my husband to go with me!

I went to Seacrest Wolf Preserve for my 30th birthday...doing something memorable like a sanctuary if you like animals or some sort of outing can be super cool!

For my 30th birthday I had a purple(it's my favourite colour) themed tea party. You could pick something you love and use it as a theme for a party.

My 30th birthday was spent working and then going to the hospital to see my mom. 🤣 My 35th birthday was about a week ago, but this coming Sunday, my two best friends and I are going out to dinner. The three of us haven't been out to dinner for a long time, so it'll be good to get together.

Some bday ideas! For my bday each year I spend all day with my husband doing things I enjoy, whether it’s something we typically do or not. So, we might go to an escape room, go to the arcade, go ice skating, take a paint class, and one year we did a yoga class. We always have my fav foods all day. Ideas we haven’t done yet that we might do for future bdays are taking a cooking class, laser tag, axe throwing, go karting, paintball, and a pottery class.

The older I get, I appreciate the simple things more and more. I love doing a family activity together. For one of my daughter’s bday, we rented E-bikes and toured around DC together. Birthday idea - take the family to Disney Land (not Disney World) and stay in their hotel. Your kids are the right age to really enjoy the park and it is not as overwhelming (or as expensive) as Disney World. You could also take the family to Knotts Berry Farm. It is a very different experience from Disney Land but is relatively close and I think Disney will shuttle you there and back if you’re staying in their hotel. It’s more laid back and not as crowded. Plus, it’s Snoopy themed so you get to meet the gang there like you do with the Disney characters at Disney Land.

My husband and I are 5 months apart, him being a xmas baby. We halved the time between our birthdays and did a joint 30th. Was a end of the world type theme. My husband did fallout, my daughter and I did zombies. Was fun. our kids are born in-between our birthdays so we had them join as well. Having health issues suck. When I turned 30 I found out I had several auto immune disorders. Im 42 now and its defiantly not been a fun 12 years. Agree with the Polly Soap coming back. Maybe she can help choose the colours or pattern every few months or year. Being a special needs mumma I fully understand the needs required. Nope on the honey dew. cant do any fruit that sweet any more. I used to love rockmelon when i was a kid but was completely spoiled as my grandad had a hobby farm that he grew everything we needed.

Such a pretty soap, I really like this swirl! I remember the soap you did for your 25th birthday I think it was, with the waffles and other cute toppings on white frosting, that is still one of my favourite soaps you’ve ever made and I think you also talked about 25 things you’d learned in your life or something? I really enjoyed that video, I should probably go back and watch it. I turn 30 in 3 weeks and I live in the UK so I’m going to London for a few days, I’ve booked a chocolate making workshop for me and my partner which should be so fun! And then we will definitely be going out somewhere nice for dinner, but I’ve not picked the restaurant yet. I’d also like to see a play and/or go to an immersive art exhibition while we are there. A few years ago for an ex boyfriend I threw a Mexican themed birthday party with loads of home made chilli con carne, tequila and cocktails which was really fun. You always throw such cute parties for Lily and Will, maybe you could take inspiration from those but like an adult version? I also understand not having the time or energy to throw yourself a big party though and the best present we can give ourselves as adults is usually rest. My son turns 30 in September. His favorite movie is The Lion King which also turns 30 this year. We are going to do a scavenger hunt for him to find his gift which will be a mini vending machine with tickets to Lion Ling on Broadway and some other things. For my 30th I had a costume party with a 'stories' theme, I was prinsess Fiona in her ogre form, my husband was Gulliver, my friend was Red ridinghood with her baby the wolf... we had a blast and all the people from different aspects of our lives really mingled and engaged with each other because of the dress-up element😊 Someone else here suggested renting a movie theater - I love that idea! (Less work for both you and your guests😅)

Hello, Thank You Katie for the educational video"s for making cold processed soap. It was inspiring. I have made Blueberry Boba soap because Boba drinks are my grandchildren favs. They like the popping boba's in mango milk or lemonade. I don't see a way to post photos here but these are on instagram and facebook. The drinks and soap are a lot of fun.

I'm turning 30 in a few days and I've invited all my friends for a party. My partner and I are going to try lots of recipes we've never tried before, so I hope it turns out well. There should be plenty of food in any case. I've also reconnected to a few old friends in the past year, so it's also going to be a bit of a high school reunion. I would absolutely try honeydew lemonade! It sounds amazing on its own but the fragrance oil notes made my mouth water haha. I don’t think the glitter is bad but when you said something along the lines of a powdery glitter I thought that sounded great and would look really nice too

For my husband’s 30th birthday I threw him a surprise birthday party/ water balloon fight with a bbq and s’more bar. For mine my friends, family and I had a movie night on the lawn with fun snacks and silly relay style games.

Can do a murder mystery dinner party with friends and family. There are a few places out there that offer kits to do that.

For my 30th I went on a tour of Lizzie Borden's house and then the next went loke 20 minutes south to Rhode Island and toired some of the Newport Mansions. I LOVE history and art and those mansions are just gorgeous! For my 34th I had my first kid! My 35th I celebrated my child's 1st birthday at the museum of science in Boston, a family tradition! I was thinking of doing a rave/bluey themed bday party for my (will be) 2 year old
