you can do a rolled hem by hand on the white fabric . it gives a very clean finish. loved the dress and the video

The blue dress in the beginning was really pretty. I like the tie detail as well. The type of your chiffon might be a georgette. I have that kind and it is pretty slippery. The butterfly dress turned out beautiful. Even the lining looks good. I have yet to make a bustier dress but it is on my list.

That dress is gorgeous! I was actually looking at similar fabric for a while and have finally got it! I will be making a dress for a little girl, then, hopefully, a matching dress for myself.🎉

I ran into that same problem with the zippers with my cousins' flower girl dresses. It had an overlay with tulle, a petticoat underneath and lining, so that bulk was horrendous that the zipper wouldn't go up in the mock up. What I ended up doing was gather it up to 1/2 away from the S.A. so that it was flat with the zipper and then it zipped up beautifully. I was afraid it would show at the back but it ended up not, you couldn't tell it was less gathered at the back. Love this piece!! I want to do a bustier now lol

@@_alexandra.louise_ yess, or somthing I haven't tried yet was to use a regular all purpose zipper instead. Because (theoretical) you can just add extra S.A to fold over so they meet when zipped up. Giving that illusion of an invisible zipper.

The dress turned out amazing! And I really love those butterfly shoes, I would've spent a ton of money on em too lol. It being tied up in the back because the zipper didn't work really ended up being a super sweet detail that brought it all together and made the back super cute

I started and still use an old brother sewing machine my grandmother gave me. I agree brother is very beginner-friendly and works well. Mine doesn't have a speed control like yours it's just how hard you press the peddle is the speed you sew. I make doll clothes the idea of making human-size clothes intimidates me. I have done repairs on my clothes but that's it.

Dresses are actually the only thing I’ve ever sewn! I first started during quarantine in 2020, and learned through watching KZread. So I guess I’ve been sewing for about two years now!
