In this video, I make a new Moxon vise out of reclaimed oak cabinet doors. the project is pretty simple and most people could make a version of this with just a drill and a hand saw if they bought their lumber to size at a store

Thank you for the knowledge you shared. You definitely got the wheels turning in my head as I'm currently in the middle of building a work bench and I'm not trying to spend 100s of dollars on a bench vice

I really like this, now I just need an old cabinet door. Don't people usually mouth them even with the table top? Have you tried that?

Thanks, I have seen it both ways but yeah it usually is mounted flush with the bench top. The reason I didn't is because there was no good way to mount it to the side on my bench since the bench top is too thin. I hope this made sense :)

hi, great work, simple, elegant, and most importantly works! I have one question, you drilled a screw in the outer nuts, how come you can use wrenches to turn them?

  • @JoshWrightWoodworking

The wrenches turn the whole threaded rod not just the nuts

@@JoshWrightWoodworking the outer nuts are secured with a screw, how do the wrenches fit . i am taking notes to build my own so thanks in advance

@@boodikaaki2367 once the screws are tightened, I use an angle grinder to cut the screws flush with the nut so the wrenches fit.
