    A voice over is a huge help to explaining what’s going on, and how/why decisions go into the work. I personally don’t like when someone just works and doesn’t say anything.

    I get bored. Im thinking of starting a channel with no talking for the haters and people who just like asmr. Two birds on stone. But on this channel id rather talk it out. It helps create community as well.

    I'm with the crowd here, man. The knife is great, and we love your voiceover style. I wonder if you're feeling weird about the handle because it's a little long compared to the blade length. I'm no expert, and it's a beautiful piece of art, so I guess all I'm saying is "be encouraged."

    Nah, it's just that the handle feels like the handle is made too much for a chopper hold and not for a pinch grip hold. And i did that on purpose for aesthetics, but it feels out of place. I feel i should have gone with a smaller thinner handle. Looks cool anyways tho

  • @JPsBladeworks

    @JPsBladeworks

    5 күн бұрын

    Lol i appreciate the knowledge. The carbon migration is what helps blend those lines in and its done with heating the knife up and having the carbon migrate past the lines. The reason they are white is due to carbon loss when forging since those lines used to be the outside of the billet before being forge welded together.

    if you put the blade in a vingar(or deluted hydrochloric acid) it will take the scale of it while dont dmg the material before grinding.. it saves time and money(grinding belts ive far longer) sry fro the bad english XD greetings from germany

    It's easier to control doing it by hand and gives a better finish. The higher your handsand the less the scratches are visible in the final product once you etch it, so it gives it an overall nicer view.

    Nice save! Good practice for tiling, but when you end up doing mosaics, as I'm sure you know, you'll want to grind in the profile, not hammer it, as it will distort the pattern horribly.

  • @JPsBladeworks

    I saw that its was good to forge it some so the the pattern follows the curves on the blade but definitely not as much as i did. I did it for the sake of research to see if on this particular knife it made any difference.
