Well, I've gotta say I had a LOT of fun putting this project together. There were some high claims about Mantics system for terrain and man, I think they delivered! Easy to use, SO versatile as well as affordable. Highly recommended. I only wish I had more time to add more details into this but crazy happy with the results. Make sure to check them out and pick up a set or two or three! bit.ly/ManticTerrain

Absolutely love it! A little thing I think could make it even better would be like have a few figurines, maybe in hazmats trying to deal with the situation cuz ya know this is supposed to portray some kind of experiment gone wrong. Maybe some corpses and like guys trying to fight the kraken with flamethrowers or something, but that’s just my 2 cents, still absolutely love it tho, good work

I was gonna make a comment, saying all the piping is too colorful, but then you explained WHY it's colorful and it blew my mind. I had no idea pipes were color coded in such a way. I think maybe a little more weathering and grime could've been good, regardless, awesome model and everything.

I really like the look of all the panels put together in a big section like you did for the back wall, really gives a sense of industrial scale that's missing from most builds using these kits. I also like the knowledge about how an industrial setup would work, makes it easier to decide what different elements should be coloured and makes it more realistic.

Who says playing with silly toys like this isn't educational? I learned what the color coding means in industrial settings. Something that I've noticed before is that when someone with real-world knowledge gets to apply that understanding to terrain, it always looks a LOT better. I had a geologist set-up a game board for a miniature game. He took the random pile of odd rock formations I had and arranged them to make sense. It was amazing! It added so much realism to the board.

Looks great! Tip if anyone wants to start airbrush; Don't start with the 20$ ones. Their quality is so hit or miss that you never know if problems when spraying are from your inexperience or just shoddy machining. One 20$ airbrush might work fine while another will constantly splatter and clog or leak etc no matter how well you mix paint. That makes it harder to troubleshoot what goes wrong as a beginner.

A tip for future I-beam construction: joints are usually braced by gusset plates. For beams where you can keep the flanges in the same plane, the plates are thick sheets of metal bolted to the outer surface of the flanges. When the flanges have to be perpendicular, the plates are basically heavy chunks of angle iron. In both cases, they make construction easier and give you a strong frame.

Hi Neil, I love your videos! This project looks great. I see you're using the airbrush, that's an awesome tool. I did a lot of airbrushing. Just a little tip, to prevent the airhose from pulling on the airbrush, just wrap it around your forearm once (hose goes from inside the wrist over the forearm to your elbow.) this will also prevent the airbrush from falling when you accidentally step in the hose.

Wont be perfect as it doesnt pack exactly identically every time but will get you closer than pure guess work!
