    Beautiful work, mate!! I've scratch-built a couple printing presses, scoured the internet for plans and designs, few and far. Yours is gorgeous. Well done 👏

    MPCNC uses a very similar bearing block that might be worth copying if people don't have access to a metal grade cnc.

    Very cool build ! I went through the same problem with my build. I can send you some picture of the clever and simple mechanism from my actual industrial table if you need.

    4:3 you can fill it with epoxy or cement to make it Rigid .

    Yes I've reinforced with epoxy previously, it works very well, but some reason i didnt do it for this project.

    Hey just a little information if you want to make that a little more rigid if you wanna spray it with foam and let it expand but you want to let the phone run out the top for five or six seconds longer so you get rid of any kind of air that might be inside but that should make it more rigid I think of you as a close cell foam it'll work out really nice for those thin rods

    Noce work 😁FYI the 3d printed Part was very weak because of your printing direction. 3d printed Part are strong in the xy axis in the Z axis are they accurate bit weak

    have you tried making linear blocks that have 100% infill with the 3D printer?

    nope, i remember watching a cnckitchen video showing that anything over 50% wasnt really worth it and more walls was actually more beneficial, but i might be wrong

    Need 8 bearing block, in aluminium, without bearings, is there any way to buy only blocks? Thanks in advance :)

    Going to be costly because of the amount of aluminum you need. Maybe you could send drawings to a local machine shop and a local machinist

    Why don't you use SCXXUU bearing, I mean what is technically beneficial to use self made bearing, Is it only cost effective or other benefit as well.

    Hi Sandip, i think i talked about why these dont work too well in this application. The small bearings dont help create a smooth movement across the rod. the larger bearings seem to roll easier

    Good idea, but maybe much more expensive to manufacture and cumbersome to install than buying linear bearings that are already on the market...

  • @ThisDesignedThat

    @ThisDesignedThat

    True, but bearing blocks are also expensive when you go up in size and this diy version performed better for this application due to the larger size of the bearing diameter
