Making a Jar - Trimming the Lid on the Pottery Wheel (

Part Two - Trimming my jar to separate the lid from the body and refine the opening.
I love the way the clay trimmings spiral and collect inside 💕 This sort of work can be so meditative and peaceful (when it all goes to plan).

This is the first ceramics vid I've been recommended in all my time on here, cool! My mom is a potter also, this is neat! Super cool jar, is it high-fire clay? Any ideas on what colors you're gonna go for and which glazes to use?😁

Thank you! This is “mid-range” porcelain clay. It’s fired in a pottery kiln to Cone 5 (about 2160F/1180C). Most of my work is illustrated with wildlife and plants. Checkout my website or Instagram if you are curious 😊

Really enjoying your videos & shorts, your work is beautiful! I just started taking wheelthrowing classes in September & have spent the past few weeks trying to make a 1pc lidded container - it is quite hard to get right but you make it look so easy! Please keep sharing!
