    @ScotchW10 It only works with Nescape Frappe Classic (not even other versions of Nescafe Frappe Taster's choice). It's something about the way the coffee is dried that traps bubbles that can cause the rich foam

    Point taken, and it should probably be called a frappeccino. You should try it the milk way though, it's much more foamy and soft.

    @pilorGR Yes, this has been raised before. Only milk makes it more like a milkshake. Top it up with water instead for a lighter drink. Only water makes a dark drink, which some people prefer

    @jasongnome From wikipedia article on "Frappe coffee": Frappé dates back to the 1957 International Trade Fair in Thessaloniki when an employee of Nestlé was exhibiting a new chocolate beverage shaker for children, and was looking for a way to have his usual instant coffee during his break. He could not find any hot water, so he mixed the coffee with cold water and a shaker, and the improvised experiment established this popular Greek beverage

    @ace9797 In the Republic of Cyprus, they make it like this (or without milk) and it IS called a frappe. Frappeccino, or 'Chino' is sold as a crushed ice milky coffe drink.

    @manolitube True, it's more sweet and stuff like that, but still not original-pure-black Frappe :P To be honest as far as I know, original frappe does not get filled with any milk, it's spoils the blackness ^ ^ moreover what you have done, seems more like Milkshake with a taste of coffee...

    Seems like just a simple (but yummy) sweetened iced coffee, but extra foamy. Isn't a frappe a blended/frozen coffee drink?

    I think a long-lasting foam depends on (a) extensive beating prior to adding anything else, (b) perfect balance of water and coffee as either too much or too little coffee can result in foam that's too little or too watery. Now, a little secret is that the more coffee you add the thicker and longer-lasting the foam, but then you're up all night ;-)

    @warioblade No, most people in Cyprus are Cypriot. They may have Greek ancestry, but it is a sovereign state in it's own right. I live there, Cypriot culture is actually very different to Greek culture.

    actually, the more water you add (before you shake it) the more froth you get. i wouldn't suggest reducing the coffee quantity because then the frappe will not be so tasty

    @jasongnome Iam Greek and you tell me what Cypriots are?? Their main language is GREEK. They are Greeks, Greekcypriots (most of them) Where do you live? In the Turkishcypriot side or The Greekcypriot side? Cyprus is GREECE. They are our brothers. we speak the same language, We share our Army and our Colleges. Cyprus Is an independent country, but they are CypriotGreeks. for example Monaco in France, Catalonia in Spain...

    Same language doesn't mean same people. Cyprus has a very different culture to mainland Greece. Do they share the same ancestry, same religion and some of the same ideals? Yes, but there has still been some divergence over the years.. The cuisine, however is very different. Cypriot cuisine actually borrows heavily from Greek, Turkish and Arabic, but also has it's own unique dishes. Cypriot wine is very different from Greek wine as well.

    Your video is well made, and you indeed make a good Greek frape, (except for the way too much milk, but that is already stated on the comments below) But I do have a hint.. Black frape is perfect for outdoors. But if you put milk in it, it will spoil quickly, and the taste will be horrible after 1 hour. exposure in the sunlight makes things even worse. Remember that frape is a coffe that takes aprox. 2-3 hours to drink.

    BTW, your examples are false as well. Catalonia is not independent of Spain, and Monaco has it's own language (even though French is the official language). Americans and Australians speak English, however, they don't consider themselves English.

  • @jasongnome
    @jasongnome12 жыл бұрын

    OK, we've already established it was a Greek invention. But your post is still ridiculous. All Greek Cypriots have Greek names, they're still Cypriots, and Cypriot culture and cuisine, while in many ways similar to the Greek, is also significantly different in some ways. Something being Greek does not necessarily mean it is Cypriot or vice versa. Souvla, lountza, Commanderia, halloumi, Sheftalia - just five examples of Cypriot cuisine which are different to Greek.
