I've held back bring the fancy goldfish over to the new aquarium because Ember had an issue with one oy his anal fins (legs 🤣). It looks well on it's way to being mended now so I think moving them across is the right time. This is a temp setup whilst I move their big aquarium and scape it.

Please consider moving that clam over to an older tank. It filter feeds and your new clean tanks don't have food for it. Unfortunately you won't know if it's not doing well until it just dies one day.

You can pipette feed them green water or ground up flakes/pellets. But a larger and older tank would definitely be better

I had one that hitch hiked on a bunch of crypts. I kept it for a few months and it doubled in size. Meanwhile I was getting paranoid that it would die one day and pollute the tank. Finally gave it away. How do you check on the well being of a clam? It is similar to having a pet rock.
@AleeshaSattva
3 жыл бұрын
@@tanbryan445 I've had them die in my tank. As long as your tank is larger than 20g it's fine. Just a water change and your parameters are back to normal.
Hey MD, to contribute to your general knowledge. The two fins where you found the injury on amber are called pelvic fins and are in deed evolutionary the predecessors of the hindlegs of other vertebrates like amphibia or reptiles (including birds) and mammals. The two finns on the sides are the pectoral fins, which are the forelimbs.
Yep, where has ghost gone? Thanks for the tutorial
MD, your input tubbing for filling tanks (or whatever you'd like to call it!) is absolutely brilliant! Thank you for explaining it for us, definitely something I would like to incorporate for my tanks. Love watching your channel, there's nothing else like it on the net and it's because you are such a fantastic person to tune into. Thank you again for helping us through these times with your FANTASTIC videos!!

If I could maybe ask a question, what would you say has been the most challenging fish you have ever tried to keep?
I think this is why we love MD, cuz he does think out of the box, I love the thought of working away at the desk and that mystery fish swims by, I could do some serious goofing off in front of that glass as well...
I see my Kuhli loaches quite frequently. A lot more than I expected to when I first bought them. They love my carpeting plants and constantly forage through them, so I can always see a couple of them. They also come out in to the open at feeding time and around dawn/dusk.
CMD- Crazy MD. No stopping you! Love it. See you on the flip.
Hi MD, I'm a newer subscriber and wanna say ty. U have taught me so much and really made me feel confident to do my own very first scape. I did a small 6gal betta tank, and it just looks amazing.

Always more to look forward to with MD Fishtanks! Can't wait!!!
i had one of those loaches for 6 years and never saw him once in all that time, rescapes etc. When i broke down the tank, there he was, twice the size. i was so happy, and didn't regret it at all. I was happy he had a great home. Now he is presumably in the new setup, who knows how he is doing but i assume he is doing great.
You win MD! ! Finally gave in... setting up a crystal red tank this afternoon!
Amazing.. Love them. Good to hear all ok
Oh MD, I just love everything you do 😍❤️
You should definitely make a tutorial on your water device. Its brilliant 😂
It feels like you just got the studio yesterday. You get so much done! I would love to see a mini pond in the future. Keep it up!
loaches love to swim in mobs, so get 5 or 6. I have 2 loaches remaining of my original group of 5 that i bought three years ago. They're always chasing each other like chipmunks.
@diananguyen8811

Yes! I originally bought 2 for my 30g, heavily planted with lots hiding spots. Never seen them. I got four more, six total now, and they are super active and def more happy and less shy. The more the better tbh. I’ve seen all six in the front playing and pilling on top of each other. Their bio load is less compared to many other fishes, so you can get away with getting a few more than just a couple.
MD Fish Tank - my happy place.
Awesome video as always MD, I really look forward to seeing your videos and it makes me want to build more scapes. 👍
Very NICE 👍👌👌 video md ☺️ THANKS FOR sharing!! excited for the next one!!!
Love your videos. Good tips and a great help for me. Your tanks are so beautiful and clean. Keep up the great work!!
I love how nice and clean you tanks look. Looks like you know someone who makes them.
Ember's "mane" is actually called a "wen", and you are correct, the white spots are wen growth. They eventually turn to whatever colour the wen is. Hope you do get a red cap oranda. I have three and they are beautiful fish. Also you should do a DIY video for your water changer, I think a lot of people would be interested.
Love that your getting Kuhlis! Make sure to get at least 6, they are much more comfy in groups
The notches on the tap is such a simple but GREAT idea!
Be careful with the hot water tap and shrimp. I killed 70% of my shrimp after a water change because of the copper spirals in my heat pump's water buffer. Always make sure there's no copper involved... now I use cold water and do smaller water changes...

I'd actually been wanting to ask this question forever... Where are the goldfish? Ember has the cutest face I've ever seen, they actually both do. I'm glad Ember's is doing better 🙏❤️. MD you might as well take that water changer and patent it and get us a Amazon link 🤣 I've been asked several times recently about doing goldfish planted tanks on our Father Fish stream.. I always tell them to come watch your videos 👍😍 You may need to turn down your CO2 in that discus tank 🤣🤣 those guys are getting huge 🤣🤣 or have they been eating Otto's 🤣🤣 I'm just kidding they look fantastic!! The shrimp racking system looks top notch and the shrimp are beautiful.. I am definitely interested in how the clam does 🤔 Thanks for all the updates... you know I always enjoy the videos! I hope you and your family have a very blessed day! 🙏🌿🦐🌿🐟🌿💚
All your tanks are awesome. I agree with you about seeing a fish or shrimp now and then. Nice surprise when they come out.👍😊👁️👁️🐟🌿
Hey MD! I was reading up on freshwater clams and had some recommendations! I would try putting him/her in the discus tank! They prefer tanks that are more established and have more waste flowing through as they filter feed with their siphon. They also like higher ph levels than shrimp, in the 7-8 range. A minimum size tank for one clam is 29 gallons (110 litre), and they like deep substrate to burrow. Based off how the discus tank is doing and the waste buildup in there from the large fish the clam would do much better. It may even do nicely in the Asian river tank :)
You man handled them like cute little puppies 😂 Fun video as usual! 👌
Im so glad you moved the goldfish to the new studio cus to be honest they are the reason i star watching your videos(I love pumkin) ty for update on the goldfish

Your tanks are beautiful. Thank you for sharing your great channel.
I live my dreams of having goldfish vicariously through you. Ember is my fav 🔥
Man! Idk why i just love your videos! 🤣
Those clams are being starved in those small tanks. They pump huge volumes of water to feed, and those clean and small tanks can’t be providing the nutrition they require.

Goldfish aquascape KISS principle - minimalism really works (as long as there's something for goldfish mental stimulation). A lot of "clutter" I find detracting from goldfish beauty (the reason for the tank). Focal point = goldfish.
It’s been a year since I first saw this video! I finally picked up 1 red cap and 3 oranda! They are very small but lovely to have

Please bring back the ranchu hoodies!!!! Me an my fiancée were in love with them!!!
When you buy kuhli loaches get a minimum of 8 they are a schooling fish and if feel comfortable you will see them.
Khuli loaches are so fun to watch. I’ve had them before in the past. Very entertaining to watch. A total pain in the bum to catch though. My LFS were out last week but hopefully picking up some tomorrow in fact. Sorry to hear about your gold fish! I feel your pain too. I had a similar issue with Joe my bubble eye. He had growth/ulcer under his head. He’s gotten much much better with the treatment. It’s gone but he’s in the hospital tank a few more days. I’d love to see a 4th, maybe a BUBBLE-EYE? Haha. Jk. Great video MD!
Nice,goodjob
I have seen a green algea carpet in an oranda tank . It looks beautiful, and the fish can 😮eat it , Keeping it trimed .
Been waiting for an update on the oranchu crew
He only pus 3 rocks in the bottom of the tank and it looks really good still. WOW he is good.
kuhli loaches are so much fun dude!!! ive got 5 of them i did have more but they jumped out of the tank and committed suicide on me. they come out and play at night and swim around like crazy!!! they like to be in groups of 6 or more. not because they are a pack fish or anything like that they just like to have company sometimes of their own kind. you will have so much fun!!!
Watch for the loaches going into the filter I found one of mine in my filter so had to add some fine mesh to mine lol
KUHLI LOACHES!!! 💙💙💙💙 MY CHILDREN. you WILL see them. especially if you provide lots of driftwood & 6+ of them. MD! THEIR FACES ARE SO CUTE. I love the banded kind, but the black are really neat too. I've noticed the black type zoom around & glass surf more often! I cant wait. I formal love them. They have a spine on their gills, & aquarium co op has a great video & so does the Dave.
The one they were in before looks really really nice (the one you put them in looks good too 😂😂)
You should try a Cichlid tank because it will add a lot of personality to your studio!🐟
MD the joy on your face at 06:42 is so gorgeous

Love CPDs too, but the nano tanks are much too small. I have 17 CPDs in my 112 liter (~29 gallons) community aquarium. They love to swim around and show their courtship behavior. Only the fry is in my nano cube 😉
i think you will need to move that clam into a much larger tank, they will need a lot of food, and that is just way too much bioload for such a small tank. I would also purchase some plankton or other clam food, and feed him manually, otherwise he will die i think.
Anyone else notice MD go all Frank Butcher when he said "Hello Sweetheart"!? Haha... 😂
You are the best 👌👍😘

Khulli loaches are quite sociable mine are always together. You might want more than 2.....
Dont know if they will get along but what about an indoor pond for timmy (and perhaps a friend) and the ranchu crew (with some new additions) you could even add in a window like in the 2000g from Joey. Sounds pretty cool to me.
I hope you patented that water hose end, you could make a little extra!! I'd buy one!
What a beautiful❤
if you are willing to use a really big tank, maybe even indoor pond. you should get that red cap and 2 more ranchu to even it out but keep it... uneven lol odds seem nicer to me for some reason 😆
Any chance we could get an update on all your tanks? So many now it’s hard to keep up!
Can you please do high energy tank as George farmer would say, a co2, high lighting tank, with ferts, I wanna see your take on the sort of tank, thats if you have time for the maintenance :)
@ll_kmnhkm
3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, high tech tank..
Kuhlis are way more active if you have a bunch of them. When I had 2 I never saw them but when I got 4 more I see them all the time, especially in the evening.
Very beatiful
Couple flaws in your tap system, when the weather changes your marks will not be the exact temp, so if your putting what you think is 27° it could be 30 on the hot days of summer. Also after using water for one tank if the water sits in the pipes for too long the water will become stagnant, which isn’t very good! Be careful and run the hose not into a fishtank after each week of water changes.
See or not see the khullis depends on the number of khullis you add, they feel safe in big groups and in my 20l acuarium they (5 of them) love to explore and even to play swiming against the water flow once the lights turn off.
@vEGan1909
3 жыл бұрын
You don’t have 5 loaches in a 20 liter tank?! That’s much too small.
Toss like 8 khuli loaches in your Asian aquarium, they have a really low bioload in general and then you'll get to see them much more often. Much more respective to how little you're going to get see them compared to the other fish.
Get a butterfly telescope goldfish 😄
I love your tanks and your videos! Do you use any CO2 or fertilizers in the shrimp tanks? The plants look wonderful.
