Nice job! You've inspired me to replace the useless factory hood on my Inca jointer/planer. Thanks!

Awesome! I’m going to try to adapt one for my Inca jointer/planer. It looks very similar to yours. Nice job.

Excellent build. I made a similar, if somewhat cruder, version for my Inca machine. Although mine only works for the thicknesser, I'll have to have another go based on your design. Thanks.

Klasse geworden :) Man hätte die herumfliegenden hobelspäne aber auch gut mit einer laserschow in scene setzen können... dann macht hobeln spass... ...aber deine lösung ist natürlich auch nicht schlecht :)

Very nice! I have just acquired a similar machine (a 1981 HC260-E) which did come with a chip deflector but nothing close to what you've done here. Would you mind sharing the measurements, or perhaps even the .skp-file? I know, I could always take my own measurements but why reinvent the wheel when someone already made an awesome design job?

A great video and a good solution, have used your concept for a similar planer that I have. It seems that you are allso missing the bar with a row of small anti-kickback hooks? (parts 164, 165, 166 on this diagram) Thank you for making good and relevant content!

I used to have a cheaper version of the same machine. Good to see you resolve the major flaw in the rise and fall handle design! ;-) Have you had any trouble with the drive belt for the feed rollers? I used to find misalignmemt between the pulleys would shred them but that may only apply to the cheaper Chinese clones.

Do you need to remove the one table in order to use the planer function I only ask because in the other units I have seen you do not and if you do not that would stop the chip from shooting up you would still need some kind of dust collection nice job on the one you built

Again a great video. I'd drill a hole and use two small pins, instead of welding the tube, but that's just my idea about it. The holes at the side will be a little difficult to close. What about some thick rubber "flaps" that just cover it loosely...? It would be enough to block the debris from flying out and it wouldn't interfere with the cutting roller.

Nice job with the hood. I am wondering about the fact that the machine came with the knives in sight and ready to grab clothing and or your skin. Seems like a safety problem that your hood solved. I have a planer and made a hood with plywood several years ago. Makes clean up almost non-existing.Nice job with the crank.. I have wanted a sander like the one you used on the welds for several years but all my purchases are for a need that will make me money and I haven't found that yet. The machine looks much safer now that the hood is there. The fact that it is double duty is another real great thing...

You lower the blade guard on top to lowest position, well as have the feed table in place when running thickness side. Sure it hinders visibility a bit but its safer that way. This design other hand is really nice. If only he had released the plans for it, but thankfully one can see most of the dimensions at 0:46 and rest can be figured out based on machine and other dimensions.

well, trapezoid has one pair of sides which are parallel to each other. a parallelogram has two pairs, so has this piece as well. so it is regardless how precise the two cuts were with the mitre saw) a trapezoid and a parallelogram
