Interesting design! I built similar but made a U shaped part that holds the rings and bearings (brass/Teflon in my case) which allows the rings to be opened for removal of the OTA or rotating the OTA easily. I used a lazy Susan bearing to replace the record which turns better than my record allowed. I inserted a tiny 1/4" thrust bearing at the top of the center pivot which also helped the smooth operation. Fun stuff to play with.

I hate rock.

There was no information at all, only a few minutes of watching power tools. Nothing about why you did this, to cautions about what to look out for, no suggestions of other methods, nothing worthwhile. Too bad, because you went to a lot of trouble to make the video and the mount. Thanks anyhow.
