MD, when you going to start using sumps to manage most of ur tanks? Cut down on all the filter maintenance?? One big sump.. 👍
Love how your go to comparison to clear water was "Like Gin". I'm suprised the previous scape lasted so long, but the new one looks great.
The tank turned out really nice as usual! Imagine an 8 ft tank full of rainbows!
Hey MD! It definitely seems like you went the extra mile with the editing on this one and it turned out really good! Love the new look for the rainbows
The Peninsula tank was the reason I got my own rainbow tank. Thank you so much for making these videos!
09:50 the hardscape looks like fish! 🐟

I've always found dark substrate brings out the most color in fish

I totally agree same with the plants especially red plants
I've learned that the reason why some people struggle with Vallisneria, is down to water chemistry. Specifically, a lack of calcium in the water. One thing I've found that works is to put a small seashell somewhere in the tank where it can't be seen. Did it once and the vallis took over the tank.

makes sense. I'll give this a try. Im guessing shell size will be dependent on water volume, but what size shell would you say for 100 litres (26 gal)
@LynnWorton
3 ай бұрын
@MDFishTanks you could use one or two of the escargot shells you have for your African shell dweller cichlids or use one larger sea shell that is a lot thicker and it should last a lot longer (over a year) depending on your water hardness
@sandorkovacs6974

Yeah, vallisneria is one of the few plants that actually prefers harder water to soft water.
@Raphael.P.

Rainbows also like harder water. Would be perfect for this tank

Little bit of cuttlefish bone should do the trick
Other people have commented on the swim room, but look at all that soft sand! The corys will love to shift through that
So glad you finally got some kuhlis!!!! But you really should have at least six.
That looks amazing MD. Congrats on yet another epic tank build. Your rainbow colours look stunning and I think you can see them in their full glory now.
this is so beautiful, although i still think you should get some more bosemani rainbows to replace the astonishing big ones that you lost when you went on holiday and the filter clogged
That is a great and easy setup. Very simple yet effective. You should give a breakdown of the cost of plants as well specially for someone starting up. Another great job.

Your tanks continue to blow me away. I’m taking most of my cues from you in researching for my first set up. Definitely low-tech, planted tanks are the way to go. Love your videos!
This is the style I’m going with for my new 60. Easy going yet impactful.
Beautiful scape as always. The fish will be loving the room they now have ❤🐟
Das Becken ist sehr schön geworden. Es hat viel freien Raum für die schwimmfreudigen Regenbogenfische, bietet aber auch Rückzugsmöglichkeiten für gestresste Weibchen oder unterlegene Männchen! 😀

At the start of the show I thought "Woah what sad music" And then you go onto say that you're sad, nailed it. That Peace Lily is amazing, we just got one to help with house humidity. Love the Cory's! Yay!

Not gonna lie I was kinda sad and hoping an MD video would cheer me up. Boy to my surprise 😂 I waited it out great video as always.
Good work incorporating more music and cinematic scenes for us to enjoy your work and the fish more. keep it up!
From the moss tank to the peninsula and to this!! Your rainbow tanks are always amazing
Love the different color rocks ❣️ now please don’t let the plants grow over & hide all of them 😁
It’s a beautiful set up MD, very pleasing to the eye. The fish look great. Thanks for the video!
Until recently I had no idea how concentrated API products are. And I still see people comparing 431 ml bottle from API with 500 ml bottle from what I used to use before, and say that the API is more expensive, because the bottle cost about a couple £ more. But the dose for my tank is 45 ml if I use the API product or about 600 ml of the other one, it lasts 10 times more. I don't want to name the other product here, but do check the dosage when deciding what is cheaper.

Keep up the great videos bud, enjoyed this one once again like the rest ❤ looking forward to the next 😁
Been looking forward to this episode for a while being a Rainbow fish keeper! Great setup for them, you made the right decision with the extra swim room!
The "dwarf" sag wall is splendid! I have a tank overrun with sag. Gives me an idea for the back of a tank I've had trouble with more high demand plants.
I've been using peace lilllie's and other plants like sweet potato, carrot tops, etc, for years. They make the best filtration ever. I have never used any electric filters in my aquariums for years. Just a small power head or air stone near the heater to make sure the warm water circulates around the aquarium. Obviously I wouldn't keep large cichlids in this type of aquarium, but tetra's and dwarf cichlids absolutely love this type of set up. Thanks for the fantastic content MD.
Those laundry buckets from the supermarket are so useful for tank maintenance or changing your tank around..👍
Let's go another cracking build video
Gorgeous! (but you know that). I would love to have Dwarf Neons. Really wanted some Blue Eyes and Gertrude Rainbows (but unfortunately they only live about a year). Love my husband's Bosemani. Rainbows are just awesome! Still waiting for the Angels to go in the 8 foot. ;)
Another stunning scape
someone upgraded his music game in recent videos, well done.
awsome edditing! Greetings from Holland.
Another gorgeous tank! I really like the contrast the sand against the rocks; such a nice look.
I like this tank. I know you personally prefer thick planting in tanks but if you plant so much that the Hardscape gets hidden by the plants it doesn't look as good to me.
The fish look so happy with their new tank! 🐟
It's been a hell of a day so seeing MD post a new video was great news! The tank is wonderful MD and I'm really happy the Rainbows now have more room to shine! You might get babies after this move!
You have an eye for design. The balance of hardscape, sand, and plants is so appealing. Sometimes I think you start out with more plants than you need, given that they will all grow, but the living picture created is lovely even before the fish join the scene.
Yes, I'm also back to normal river pebbles by my last scape. I was able to buy it cheaply as coarse Rhine gravel at the garden center. Combined with river sand, it looks more natural than the usual combination of sand lava stone or sand seiryu stone. 😀
Oh no!! MD made the rainbowfish mistake! Dark substrate brings out their colors the best!
Love this tank MD!! I think the peninsula tank was my favorite you've ever made, but really cool to see the new tank you made for the rainbows :)
You struggle with Val because it is a plant that requires a little patience lol. Plant it, let it go for 3-4 months. It's going to stay more or less the same, may even melt back slightly, in that time. Then, one day it'll start sending out runners, and those runners are going to grow into absolutely gorgeous new val shoots.
Amazed that you never use plastic eggcrate light diffuser (tiny squares) beneath really heavy rocks/wood to distribute the weight across the bottom evenly. Perhaps the bottoms of UK aquariums are thicker/tempered glass that doesn’t crack easily.
Much better for the rainbows md,they love swim room, well done mate!👌👍
Love your vids!
The tank looks so big again! The fish look like they enjoy having all that space.
Saw the whole video without skipping anything and it was amazing to listen to the lo-fi hip hop while u where doing the hard scape, amazing aquarium
I just watched keeping fish simples Gary Lange fishroom tour, and between your tank and Garys room, inspired me to setup a 55 gal Rainbow planted tank. Cheers❤
My daughter and I spent some time yesterday after work walking along the lake shore, picking up rocks and driftwood that look very similar... very cool indeed sir.
Great job sir...... U r n inspiration for those who think aquascaping is all about putting expensive stuff like aqua soil o CO2.... But rather than that u can use basic substrate which u can get free of cost river near by. Have learn alot from u sir. TQ
Looks a lot like a scape I did for my African dwarf frogs but on a much larger scale. Used lots of river rocks I collected from a local stream and they vary in color. Love it! Beautiful. I need another tank 😂
Beautiful tank MD! Could watch it for ages.
This tank turned out really nice, i heard you said you had 2 kuhli loaches? Id reccomend getting a few more since they can sometimes be a social bottom feeder but besides that this tank looks awesome and the plants are so vivid and healthy
Love this build and love rainbow fish by far my favourite aquarium fish
What a perfect eye for detail.. That's some amazing and incredibly fast scaping here. You've become a real artist, you know :) And thank you so, so much for sharing your ideas!
Looks great
Oh I love how you took a minute after planting to do a close up on the plants.
Those are the biggest bunches of buce and anubias I've ever seen... just thinking of how much they would cost is doing my head in. Absolutely gorgeous 😍.
Beautiful! "Resist the scatter gravel" 😂 had a proper giggle at that
Amazing video..❤
I would really love to see you design a tank for plecos! Green Phantoms, Royals, Gold Nuggets!
When u placed the first wood, I remembered the Electric Blue Acara tank of yours. That was an epic tank! My favourite!❤️
So much room for activities!
Let’s gooo new video
Could you perhaps make a little aquarium tucked away in a corner, that you let live? I think you could learn a lot from that experience over the years - perhaps with an oyster or something else that can grow o be hundreds of years old? Hope O've planted an interest and a little bit of curiosity in your beautiful mind 🌱 lots of love from Denmark
Why can i never find beautiful plants like this in Canada? Gorgeous build as always!

Maybe you can buy seeds and set up a tank or two and incubate your own. I just bought some aquarium grass seeds. Fingers crossed I successfully germinate them. 😊💭
@wakingforbacon6439

@@Poeticfloeticdude sorry to tell you those aquarium grass seeds are a scam. Most if not all are not even aquatic whatsoever. Don't use these. Learn from others mistakes.
I really admire your content for years... "keeping a hundred aquariums" is no easy feat. May I give a suggestion on testing? Dive your arm with your thumb closing the test glass. Pick water from the "most central part of the aquarium". I believe will give a more "correct reading". Your work is amazing and a great contribution on making this beautiful hobby more popular!
Beautiful! I wish I had as much luck with java ferns. I have managed to get them growing in a couple tanks, but they do not look so lush.
Absolutely stunning as always!! 🌿🌿🌿🌿
This tank looks amazing now.
Amazing x

I wish I could find awesome wood like that!!
Very nice
Plenty of the rainbows have got a fair bit of growing to do yet, particularly male Bosemanii and blue (Lacustris) which should get lots deeper in the body.
Lets gooooo early for once!!! Love your vids MD!!
Wondering why sometimes you start with the substrate / sand then hardscape / rocks and sometimes the other way? I would have thought sand first would help protect the glass from the rocks? Cheers!
MD, your fish must really love you lol they look super happy in there - props on the video work, the whole thing looked like a movie mate
great tank as usual. calm, peaceful, pleasant. the music on the other hand was a bit chaotic and all over the place. MD must have been in a weird mood making this because his music selection is usually much better
For several years I have used Tropica plant fertilisers, and swore by them. I have been following your channel for quite a while now and have moved over to API Root tabs and Leaf zone, and my plants have gone mental (in a good way), so thanks for your channel and showing how it should be done!
Wow really love this new setup! Beautiful 😊
I still remeber where you got those big rocks from MD i think it was from your mother in laws garden , and i love its a oart of the process new scapes and thats what we hobbyists love 😍
A video for bare bottom discus tank with driftwood's and river rocks with epiphytes plants for beginners in the hobby.
I set up a Cory tank this week and also struggled not to use scatter gravel! I think they will enjoy the plain sand though.
Keep it up
I'm having a huge issue with BBA at the moment. I love looking at your aquariums as they look so clean and fresh. I've just bought AlgExit so hopefully that'll help. Keep up the awesome work as I love your videos!
Great job.. Long time I thought it had to be done.❤👍
Although I loved the previous scape this one looks way better awesome video md ❤😊
Anubias is both singular and plural :) amazing tank
