    Now that’s too darn pretty to bake in! 😍 If I’m able to master this between now & Yule, I’ll have something special for Christmas/Yule gifts. I’ll have to get my youngest daughter to get the recipe of her low sugar monkey bread. She began testing sugar deductions. Then, she began testing different amounts of sugar replaced with Swerve sweetener. Ultimately, her hard work paid off. She reduced the sugars overall & the remaining sugar was divided. She measured the sugars left, split that amount, & replaced that half with Swerve. My husband is a type I diabetic since he was 4-5yrs old. Our daughter began to show signs of pre-diabetes with lab work to prove it. She’s gained advice & personal experiments that allow her a normal meal with minor tweaks. Her monkey bread was her crown jewel. It is sweet, but it has enough of a lowered sugar amounts & sugar substitute (Swerve sweetener) that works. It’s delicious & it hasn’t shot either of their sugar levels.

    Waking up to your video and a cup of coffee is a great way to start my day. I bought you a cup as well💙 If I can figure out how to do it. I bought a few tile frames (55! To be exact 🤦🏽‍♀️) @ Aardvark 50th anniversary. I HAD to, they were 50% off. You can also use them as a trivet. Do I need a stonewear or special clay so the heat from a dish doesn't crack the tile?💃

    Hi Barbara. Of course you can make the bundt pan whatever size you desire. The one in the video is on the smaller size so that when i halved the recipe it fit inside perfectly. In the end this one was 2 1/2 inches tall and around 6 1/2 inches from rim to rim. I started with 2.3 pounds of porcelain and my clay shrinks 15% which is. a lot more than if you start with a clay such as stoneware etc. I hope that helps. Have a go at this. They were always good sellers for me

  • @annruel1982

    @annruel1982

    Hi Marcia. You can make it whatever size you want. You are right, this one (2 pounds of clay) is on the smaller size and a half a recipe worked great for it. Funny that i had to test this one out and even though it was a half recipe, we still had a little of the pull bread left over 🙂

  • @nellekehakvoort9347

    Hi Jim and Ann, great video as always. I was wondering if you consider the capacity of the bundt pan before throwing, so that you know how much batter goes into it. Is there some way to calculate or know besides testing it out?

  • @annruel1982

    @annruel1982

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi Nelleke. It just depends on your taste. If I wanted to make a full recipe of the monkey bread, I use porcelain that shrinks 15% and would probably start out with about 3 -4 pounds of clay to leave room for trimming knowing that it shrinks so much. I would probably want the end piece to have a height of about 5 inches or so and about 7 to 8 inches across the rim. Some customers like the smaller pans that are made for one person more than a bigger pan to feed a family. I would just make all sizes and let people pick. They can always alter the recipe

    Is there a clay that should not be used for heavy oven use?

  • @LittleStreetPottery

    @LittleStreetPottery

    Жыл бұрын

    The clay I (and most potters use) has been fired to temps much higher than they would ever endure in an oven. I would just be careful to not put a cold piece of pottery into a hot oven as you may get thermal shock. So, it can be helpful to put the piece in while oven is preheating for a bit to avoid thermal shock. Thanks!
