Nothing really new, this has been done decades ago with 3D fishes, plants,...,but his huge art works are indeed something else.

No one said it was. People imitate art, build up on an idea everyday.
You could make a pretty cool set of windows with this technique...
That's an expensive and HEAVY hobby. But all the power to him.

Especially epoxy resin cost a whole lot of money so I'm pretty sure his masterpiece of artwork is coughing up over in the thousands 🤮🤣😂😆💯
The resin makes all of the paintings pretty surreal.
Rest in peace for his lungs. With this amount of resin pouring.

This is what most artists like myself worry about, originality. The artist in this video is taking a technique that has already been done and making it into his own style by adding other mediums or making it on a large scale. Also he never said he invented the technique he is doing

OMG I can't believe I just stumbled on this now. Great presentation! He was my illustration mentor around 2017-2018, thoroughly enjoyed his classes on SmART school.
THIS ARTIST IS AWESOME! THANKFUL FOR YOUR EYES TO SEE BEYOND WHAT IS JUST THERE.
Muy bonitos y originales. 😍 Saludos desde México!! 🇲🇽
Awesome!!!
Üç boyut etkisi veren harika bir yöntem. Bayildimmmm...
Why are the comments so shady? Yes, its an old technique, noone claimed it was new. And yes the art is in fact 3d! I'm sorry yourb10 year old brain cannot comprehend dimensions.

so cool!
Wow well done beautiful Outstanding performance
doesn't really look 3d, at least on video, still beautiful work however! maybe if it's thinner layers and more paint, idk but it just looks like a hell lot of resin for no reason
So rad 🌊
Thank you so much for this information

I would love to watch this video with fresh narration. The artist is talented and watching him in process is intriguing. Listening to the narrator bemoan the layering stages and continually harp on the challenges of the medium is tedious. Every medium has challenges. The relationship between artist and medium is intimate. It isn't the amount of resin used, the layers created, the patience required to let things cure which give insight into the art itself... in my opinion it is the intent of the artist and his story that is intriguing. I want to know more about the artists' internal process.
Beautiful
Very beautiful ! Resin is expensive, too

I don't understand the comparison, he is trying to go for an abstract and colorful look. While the people who are doing koi are going for realism. I get if you prefer the koi ones more, but I don't think that you should compare them.

@@vmarysea3872 True 😆 and I'm sure Da Vinci used oil paints to make Mona Lisa and not resin.
I do a short cut, buy several paintings cut in such a way to create several layers glued on to ths epoxy to give it a 3D effect.
like son mai imo
He could get better results with 8 transparent plastic sheets also, he will have more control over the process and if anything will go wrong he can change the layer. Besides this, the finished product doesn't look 3rd. I do appreciate his style, not the process :).
@GrumpetteJV
2 жыл бұрын
I don't know if that's the case, as many of the mediums used, won't adhere to plastics, or would react with it. He'd need something to fixate his layers, and then something else to adhere the sheets. And glueing multiple layers, might result in a less clear image. Also, the kind of plastic sheets you'd use are very expensive and all have different properties that might not be the best for this kind of work. There's a reason resin is used in art so much. Because it works well with the mediums used. Plus.. It's not just about the end result, it's about the process. And what would you call a better end result? That would be objective. Seeing as he is the artist, he gets to decide. He is creating these paintings the way he wants to, by his vision. Maybe he just enjoys working with resin? And if he wanted a different end result, he might have a different process. Your comment is interesting though, because it shows that there's more ways to do something, we all have our own preferences, and as always, art and art processes are very subjective. How boring would life be if we all had the same brain and skills?
What would happen if you accidentally painted in the wrong layer?

Hmmm, you could probably make something similar by layering sheaths of plastic or glass.

Yeah, I hate to say that, but like I feel like the type of work he's making doesn't need thousands of dollars in resin, it would look fine as just an oil painting, it doesn't really look 3d. The paintings themselves don't have very much color, and the ones that do are so muddled and they are hard to look at.

Not. Enough. Likes.
Sometimes you are an overpaid artist....
To be honest.. It just looks flat, not 3D. I would say it would look the same or better if he just painted and not use the resin.
Horrible for the environment, dang sad.
Are you gonna scam more people?
