The AES kit has always been on my wish list but over the past 15 months the price has significantly gone up. I didn't know the terminal and wire quality was inferior. Since I'm frugal as well, I've made the same leads as you've shown 🙂.

Yeah I am not saying it is that inferior, its just no the really high quality wire that I like to use.

@frugalprepper Gotcha....thanks Tom! Just like you, I enjoy making my own leads. In fact, I made my own backprobes as well that even slide easily on weatherpack connectors

Thanks for sharing! I have the Aes wave kit I think the quality seems fine although it is expensive. Do you not use marine heat shrink because you think it's not good or because your way is cheaper? (Your link for the soldering iron says Item removed)

You have all the really expensive stuff. I wan't your key machine! I just find the heat shrink cheaper and easier to find, and the nail polish seems to seal it up fine. Try this link, it works for me: amzn.to/3EwuJP0

I haven't heard how he is doing. I know he closed his shop for the foreseeable future, but his online store is still up and running. I am not even sure what happened to him. I know Paul Danner said he was having some medical issues. I ordered a Coil Pack pickup for my scope from him a while ago and it arrived with a cool sticker. And it works well.
