That blue on blue strap Seiko, wow. I'm not a watch aficionado, far from it. I used to be a wearable user (Fitbit, Pebble Classic, Asus Zenwatch, Samsung Gear S2) but I got fed up with decreasing battery life, confused industry path, and awfully expensive to replace the devices. I was browsing around and by accident I found out about Seiko 5 and I see a beautifully designed and made watch that costs a fraction of the wearables I bought, really something that threw me off. I'm going to buy that blue on blue combo, thanks for the video, you got a subscriber.

Well, I have to jump some hoops to buy it. That blue SNKL07 only available from Singapore and the Bradystrap is from US. I try to avoid importing stuff as our custom is notoriously bad... But that blue combo... Gosh... Probably worth the hassle. I'd probably go buy available Seiko 5 locally and order the blue combo for my Father's birthday gift.

I agree, it's beautiful, I really love that shade of blue and it's so nice when the color of the strap emphasizes and matches with the dial. I also love a bit brighter royal blue, saw a very nice one (2206-0490) on Ebay. My mother's Seiko 5 2206 (which became mine) is fully silver, even the dial), that's a nice one too.

Curt, you should be doing more watches-straps combinations videos. I find this video an extremely good and useful reference especially when one may think about buying a watch and wonders what strap would best fit.

My SNKE53K1 comes alive after changing to a brown leather strap. Amazing quality at such a good price.

Awesome vid. I have 3 of these Seiko 5s, and just ordered one of those watch tool kits to swap out straps. The SNZH53K1 rocks for the money.

Don't feel bad about buying the same watch! I've done that too! Early in my watch collecting 'career', I developed a taste for Tag Heuer (and Heuer pre Tag ones too!). Fleabay before snipe programs was easy for many of us to buy things at a discount by manual sniping, and sometimes a price was just too good to pass up. I did the same; I put a different snazzy Monaco style band and rose gold bezel on my duplicate 2000 Exclusive black face series and it looked like a very different watch!

Wow, impressive. I am also a watch collector, and have several Seiko watches. But I don't have any Seiko 5's because I never liked their cheap metal bands. The first strap cleared my skin

Was fortunate to get a SNKK11 for under 60 usd, tried on the default bracelet that came with it and it didn't feel great. Remembered this video and opted for a blue leather strap. The blue leather strap on blue dial = as kids these days say... is bae.

Quick-Release straps...THE BEST.

Seiko 5 has such a great value for money. Such a lot of bang per buck. Throw a couple hundred dollars on my seiko sarz003, and change its strap (due to cheap feel like bracelet), and it easily becomes my favorite watch. Forget the Swiss brand, this is the watch, you can mix and match and it will make you feel amazed on how many possibilities and good combination you can make, without breaking your piggy bank.

I agree with Michael, that blue strap Seiko is "wow". Does Hadley Roma make a blue leather strap and would you recommend it. The Bradley strap is gorgeous but like you I have a small wrist and the HR should fit me better.Thanks for your help!

Hi. Thanks for the video. I recently started my watch collection. I purchased a new Seiko 5 Sport SRPD55. I purchased several nato style bands and a watch repair kit to have some fun with. The first time I removed the lugs from the oyster style band the original lugs would no longer fit back in the watch. The kit had some extra lugs so I used them for the nato band, but they are a different fit and thickness than the original lugs and will not work as well when I want to put the oyster band back on. The lugs seemed to loose the original amount of spring. Is this a thing? I followed basic youtube instructions on how to remove them and cant seem to find any body with the same problem. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Dude, when you revealed the Snkk87 on the hadley roma, I paused the video, and bought it lol I can't wait to get t! Btw, If you go to Holben's watch bands they have some of the Hadley Roma MS834 straps!
